I have been going to the Nationals since 1978...I started to go to the racing for Wednesday and Thursday only a few years ago....Full fields, all entries, inverted fields, flat our racing to make features.
I often wonder if anyone else does this? The fans are great, the pits are full of not just racers but...engine mfg. and others.
No problem with Saturday night...just cannot make the whole week.

To me there is no doubt the best racing is Wednesday and Thursday. With that said I still love Saturday night. Especially when there is no Live TV. It seems like there is tension in the air so thick you can almost cut it with a knife.
This year Saturday night is the only night I can make it, so I'm looking forward to it.

Last year's Friday had a good racing, but I didn't like the format. I prefered the old format better.

many years ago i would attend wed, thurs, then off to the silver crown race on sat, and the peoria tt on sunday, still love wed and thurs, and often skip friday, have thought many times about skipping sat but would hate missing the next first time winner

I know several parties who only attend Wednesday and Thursday. But then part of their reasoning was that they could watch Saturday night's racing on TV, so maybe that will change some people's plans this year.
I always attend all four nights. But if I had to choose just two nights to be there, it would be Wed. and Thu.

We have not stayed for Saturday since the 90's as the best racing is almost always on the Q nights. I have to disagree with the poster above about the Friday show last year. I like the three B mains, top 8 transfer to the A with no heats. The dashes are still the dumbest thing on the planet but the rest of last year's Friday show was pretty good.

wed & thurs is absolutly the best two nights, every driver enters that city with the same unknown ? will I ? can I? , its so obvious the driving speeks for itself , a driver would just not attempt some manuvers on any regular race night ,its earlie in the week, the next few nights depends on a good start ! this is it ! the Nationals ! claw, fight ,rip n shred , whatever it takes!,

I did that for several years from the mid 90's until 05 just because I was working at stock car tracks in eastern Iowa on Fri/Sat. It was nice to get out of town before the place turned into gridlock on Friday/Saturday too.

Sammy's heat race of his qualifying night is always the most intense first lap of the year. I have seen him do some amazing things on that first lap in an attempt to get to the front. Wed and Thurs and Sat are intense. Friday is just a good day to chill and hang out. If the races are good that is just a bonus.
