I checked the web site for Knoxville Raceway and didn't find any info as to which drivers are scheduled to qualify on Wed. or Thurs. night. Does anyone know where I can find that info? Currently I'm most interested in the night Sammy Swindell is scheduled to qualify. Thanks in advance for any help.

All drivers must report to the baseball field behind the grandstands on Wednesday morning.
1. They all take turns putting their heads on a ball bat, spinning around 50 times (normally 30 times)
2. Run the bases and their times are recorded and then the field is split between Wed/Thurs.

I actually have no idea, but its been a long day at work and needed a laugh...

I also seen this and wondered when kville would post the nightly schedule. I would guess the drivers and there teams would need to know this info as soon as possible so they could make the proper arrangements for the week.

In the "old days" I thought we "requested" our preference when we sent the app to them.

I think you can request what night you prefer, but that doesn't mean you are gonna get that night. They try to balance the power teams as best they can for each night...it would probably help if the 4 time defending national champion (and several other WoO) teams would get their entry's in....but, maybe, Schatz isn't coming this year and were gonna see a new winner...is he game playing for some reason or is his team really this un-organized to pre-enter in the biggest race of the year.....

Sammy usually runs on thursday of these type of split shows.
The older I get, the faster I used to be.

Seems like there were several big name teams that had entries pop up on the site a week prior to the event. Who knows; perhaps there is just a correction needed from the track on the entry... not a big deal.

The Outlaws were split up by points for the most part, odd places in the standings on one day and even on the other. There was always an exception here and there with team cars and the likes. Take It Easy...

Now posted on Knoxville Raceway website.... looks like a very even split IMO. Event seems wide open although I still believe 50 laps plays into Schatz hands..... then again, that #11 car will have the same winning info Schatz has had the past few years...... ???????

Wouldn't bother me to see him win. I'm a big Saldana/Dave Blaney fan, but being the 50th Nationals... I'd love to see S. Kinser, Swindell, or Haudenschild win the title. Seen Kinser & Swindell both run on Thursday. With the parity today, IMO it is important to run Thursday b/c the track is typically wider and a poor qualifying draw can still result in a decent time trial and a wide enough track to pass enough cars to rack up the points. Wednesday's track is so fast that I believe a bit more luck is involved in the qualifying draw... have to hit the track somewhat early and heats are tougher to advance. Just my opinion.

Why does Knoxville determine by WoO points which qualifying day a car runs when it's not a WoO event?
Just seems a bit odd.
