I was on Silver Dollar Speedway website getting information to purchase Gold Cup tickets for Saturday and now see they have changed the split day schedule Thursday/Friday. You must run all 3 nights now. Looking for some good racing.

Outlaws must run all 3 nights, meanwhile the fans have to purchase a campsite for the entire week!

You do not have to purchase a campsite for the whole week! You can roll in on Thursday and still find a camp spot. It may not have hook ups, but if they are available you can get one. I rolled in on a Wednesday a couple of years ago and got a site that had hook ups. Now if you want a nice site that has hook ups then yes you have to purchase the whole week because of demand. As long as people are willing to buy the whole week why would they change their policy? I don't have a problem with it because it is important to me to have hook ups and shade!!

I don't think so. They accumulate points on Thurs. and Fri. to determine the Sat. lineups, so Sat. at least won't be normal WoO format, and thus a show up points only deal. Guess there is no reason that Thurs. and Fri. races couldn't be full points?

the way i understood things was that because on qualifying nights, cars didn't get to race against the whole field, and were separated by qualifying days, that was the reason it was a show up points deal. since i take it that all cars will be competing against each other both prelim nights this year, and will be in essense qualifying together both nights, i was hoping that it may qualify to be a points race.

Hmm. So, does this mean that Chico will be giving in to the Goodyear tire rule? If it is an Outlaw points race, it will be Goodyear's.

my question is are they expecting less cars? as usually there are about 80 cars split between thur and fri now they will all be run together? and 2 companion classes to compete also. Maybe i'm wrong but dont see how they can pull it off with that many cars

the gold cup has always been a outlaw points race (at least for most of the past years and the past few years). they always got points, just show up points each night, as long as it has a woo sanction.
