McCarl took it pitside with a loose fuel pump bolt. On the restart, sprint car pinball resulted in Wolfgang breaking a front end and retiring. Ballenger shot out to an early lead, but with a lap in, an inadvertent yellow was called. The restart saw Ballenger leading T. McCarl, Kerzman, C. Meyer and T. Meyer. T. McCarl shot under Ballenger on lap four to take the lead. On lap seven, Dy. Peterson stopped on the track, bringing caution. Kubli had been into the top five, but jumped the berm on the backstretch and slavaged sixth for the restart. The restart would see him jump it again and need a new left rear tire. It was time for a fuel stop. T. McCarl led Ballenger, C. Meyer, Kerzman and Bakker who had a pass for fourth negated by the caution. Dy. Peterson spun again on the restart and was sent to the pits. T. McCarl pulled away, but two laps later, Jones spun and retired, and Bakker exited from fifth. Two laps later, the final slowdown came for Rosenboom, who stopped after contact with a charging Garner (from the tail). The final restart saw T. McCarl ahead of Ballenger, C. Meyer, T. It was neat watching the 410's at Rock Rapids for my 1st time. Been to some of the weekly shows over the years. Hats off to the track prep people for giving the racers a damn good surface all night long, even though the Outlaw Feature got a little lengthy due to spins & cars taking off a little too early on starts & restarts.

Yes Jacob Ossenfort was the hard charger in the winged sprint car feature, but watching Clint Garner come from the tail up to 4th was definetly worth watching. I'm sure that he was pretty pumped up after being sent to the rear on the initial start.

And for Dylan Peterson, what was up on those performances in both sprint car features by spinning out twice in each of those races. Obviously, someone was driving way over their head & luckily didn't get on his head.

One other observation that I noticed was that 25 of the 29 winged sprint cars were running Hoosier rear tires on their machines. I liked the tire rule that they have in place. Like the race director says, it doesn't matter what brand name, compound or width of the tire, the only thing that it has to be is round.

What a long night - and I showed up after the heats were completed. Heard the advertised 7:00 PM start time didn't happen as well. Pretty lackluster feature up front with T-Mac checking out and putting a nice move in traffic to seal the win. Clint was the show coming from the back after "jumping" the initial start.

I really do enjoy Rocky putting on these 410 shows with a great payout, but there is definitely some work that needs to be done, like starting on time and getting out a decent time. 11:30 is not an adequate time at all to be getting done, and a 20 minute intermission didn't help from what I was told. I felt like I was at Hartford and the only thing missing last night was Lightning the I-90 bear...

And yes, Dylan Peterson looked like he had never driven before, along with a few other guys. Congrats to T-Mac on picking up his 2nd win since coming back! Rumor has it spot1 got some nice pictures of ya in victory lane!

You're right, he did..................although he may not particularly like what goes on, he knows what has to be done. It is well documented that he does not care for McCarl, although he will say the SOB can drive a car, just does not like his attitude. Others can be as hungry to win but don't have to act like a jackass, why is that? Also, was not particularly impressed with this feature and it's not because of who won. All of the yellows and pace laps were absolutely silly. Why is it that you don't get a full lap in on a restart, some of these idiots don't know where to line up again? C'mon, most of them have done this quite a few times..............all it did was make for a long night.

And you will be able to see photos from Friday night come Monday morning on www.pilotracewaynews.com and maybe on hoseheads after they get sent on Sunday. Took Saturday night off as didn't feel like being outside all that much. Probably a good thing too with the storm warnings that Jackson had around 10 PM. Guess there was rotation just South of Lakefield. Winds around 90-100 MPH, not sure if it was on the ground, tho.
