Wow, another start and park joke about Dave. You must've really that long and hard to come up with that. Real original.

Good luck to Dave tonight. It's good to have him back behind the wheel of a sprint car. Hopefully it's full time next year.

Worked on race cars for many years and am now a casual fan. I can't blame the car owner and especially the driver for respecting the cost to field a car. I wonder if people really realize the costs involved to race these things from the time you load the car till you get back to the shop. I know we parked a few times just over the driver knowing he could get wrecked with the guys who started around hime because we timed/qualified bad. But hey, you be the judge as a fan complain if you like but I think it shows sense of the driver and team.

Starting and parking, race after race, is a joke and mocks the integrity of the sport. I know Dave's is not the only team doing it.

Send them some money I am sure they would like to race

I bet they do it that way because they have more fun that way. you think

By the way do not send to much because they only need to support 50 full time. If you do that we can have integrity back.

I think my point is being missed. I know these teams can't afford to complete the races. But the sport IS racing. When these guys make the field, they enter the race with no intention of actually racing. Am I really the only one bothered by this?

No I think the same thing. I think nascar should start doing something about it. I remember when Dave qualified in the top 5 a couple of races ago. Would love to see dave behind the wheel of a sprint car full time again. LETS GO RACIN!!

So they should stay home and not do anything

Like I said send them money they will race

It only takes brains to qualify, it takes money to race

So, are your saying this doesn't happen at dirt tracks during regular weekly racing?

Are you actually watching something other than the racing up front?

On a regular basis I see cars that make the feature that accept the reality they cannot compete for a position in the top 10. They start the feature and pull off after a few laps. They do this because it pays more than not starting the main event. Douh!

They can then take that money and buy some parts, tools or even food on the way home.

Exactly what is wrong with that??

What is with this "my racing is better than your racing" crap?????

I don't mean anything toward Dave, but I think the post was that the same teams are doing this week in and week out! I'm not sure that is racing at all? They are just doing it because of what it pays to finish last, or close to it every week. It really is to bad Dave has to do this to make a living!!! He is a great person and driver, and hope he doesn't have to keep doing this for too long!!!!!!

First of all, you didn't even spell "duh" right, I think that's what you meant to say but who the hell knows. Who said anything about one form of racing being better than another? Not I. To the contrary, starting and parking, week after week, for a season and a half as DB and Nemechek have done, blows in any form of racing. Are you saying that drivers that "can't compete for a position in the top 10" should just not bother trying, and just pack it in. Yup, that's a great way to attract a sponsor. Such dedication to the sport. "I'm just going to show up, but not really attempt to race or compete in any meaningful way, but I would like to still be paid for the, uh, effort." Whatever works for them, I guess, but I just love reading the official results page to see what unfortunate mechanical failure has taken them out of the race each week, usually a few laps before the first pit stop is iminent. Nascar usually calls it a brake issue!

My point was that EXACTLY the same thing happens in weekly dirt racing and you can't or won't acknowledge that fact. You have the "my racing is better than your racing" attitude that makes dirt racing hard to accept for new fans. Was it Dave argabright that termed it "reverse elitism?"

Like it or not, this "attitude" contributes to the current state of the sport. Tis what it tis!

Does S&P epotimize the essence of "racing?" I suppose not but it has been a part of the sport (including dirt racing) as long as I can remember. That's back to the 50's and 60's if that makes any difference.

Second of all (LOL) there are a number of ways to spell D'OH (<< the most accepted version) but I didn't realize we were going to have a discussion of grammar and spelling.

Would you care to have one of those? Douh!

OK, the same thing happens is sprint car racing. So we have guys turning off sponsors here too, attempting to accomplish nothing instead of trying to compete and better their programs. Beautiful.

Sure we can discuss anything you like. But I have to let you know up front that while you defend the Sn'P'ers, I'll STILL be sticking up for the other poorer teams that actually try to race, no matter where they're likely to finish.

So you are saying that they have the money to pay the pit crew and all the rest and have a sponsor but just want to make him mad by not racing and NASCAR should do something about it. You are sure that the cars that do not qualify were going to run the whole race? They have the same problem no money

great response...it is obvious that the guy u are going back and forth with is a "young" idiot....he doesnt like Blaney because the only ride Blaney can get in NASCAR is a start and park deal....Do you think Dave is happy with this?? dont think so....but, If you are gonna get paid....let's just say, about 10,000 per each event u qualify for (that's what I heard), wouldn't u do it??? The guy has a family he has to support..he will bring home in the $300,000 range by seasons end.....don't think too many sprint car drivers are gonna aproach that....Dave's only parking the car at the owners orders...

And if you don't think the same thing is going on in the WoO, youre even a bigger idiot...look at the results of the WoO A-Mains when they aren't in 410 country....ur gonna see several 360 cars in the end of the field picking up a check...

Go gettim Dave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for piling on, JTC. You certainly have me all figured out, you self-righteous knob. No I wouldn't do it. It's embarrassing. There is no pride in this nonsense. At least the 360's finish the race, sometime picking up a few spots if others crash out or Sand P(LOL). Like I said, it's about the integrity of the sport...

God, am I an idiot.
