Struggles for Schneiderman at Knoxville

(Knoxville, IA – 7/3/10) It was business as usual for Josh Schneiderman and the Deuce Motorsports #49 at the Knoxville Raceway this past Saturday night. However, the 49 team was struck with a gremlin early on in the night. "We fouled a spark plug while warming the motor and when I went to hot lap the car it vibrated so bad that I pulled it back in," commented Josh. "Knoxville was kind enough to give us a couple of warm up laps before time trials and I want to thank them for that. Though our vibration went away we missed on the gear combination and put up a poor qualifying effort."

The i wireless, Automotive Machine, Engler Injection sprinter would start on the pole of the first heat race. Schneiderman shot out like a rocket in the heat race and would cruise to victory for the team's first heat race win of season. "It felt kind of nice to win something," laughed Schneiderman, "The crew had the car working great and we had obviously solved our gear problem, which was nice to figure out.

With the qualifying time, the MSFI, Liberty Transport, Pro Shocks #49 missed the invert and would have to start the race in the 13th position. Josh would not get the start he needed, as he fell to the 20th spot and would have to work his way forward. As the race progressed on Josh had worked his way to just outside the top ten when a car in front of him broke entering turn 3. The Ideal Ready Mix, Willson Trucking, Hephner Race Products #49 had to take evasive action, spinning to avoid the slowing car. The way Schneiderman's luck has been going there were only 4 laps left at the time, with Josh only being able to make his way back to the 18th spot. "We've really had some unfortunate luck the last couple weeks," Schneiderman says with a smile, "The car was extremely fast in the feature, but it was so tough to pass cars and the start really hurt us. The good thing is the car is in one piece and we will be back for twin features night to try it again. One thing about our team is we never quit and we keep trying. We're going to keep working and get that first 410 win!"

The R2 Enterprises, AMP Energy, ButlerBuilt #49 will be back in action this Saturday night at Knoxville with Jarrod's #88 of Jarrod planning to be in attendance as well. First the team will be making an appearance at the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, where it will be Josh's first 360 show of the year.
