Just a thought, maybe you should know why things are done before you comment on them......

I'll take that as a no. If you had attended events there this year - you would understand why they cancelled their ascs shows.

The bs is not with ascs - the bs is that a first year track promoter completely reconfigured a track before he had EVER run even a single race on it. I have attended 5 events there this season - and only 1 was any good at all. When a good, racy surface is an anomaly rather than the norm - it does start creating doubts. We witnessed it repeatedly - if you go into turn 1 more than 6 feet off the bottom - you are sliding all the way to the wall. The elimination of any real banking (due to a hot pit for the stock car demo derby's they feature there every week) - combined with a terrible track prep almost every time out (dust storms in hot laps) has made open wheel racing at tha track almost tragic. It was always very good - and to so obviously see how their promoter has killed it - it is tragic. It was this way when I saw their opener (worst show of all time) - it was also this way with ascs, ascs2 micros, ascs2 midgets, and even the champ sprints when they ran with the micros. After seeing those 5 shows - its definitely the slowest sprint car track I have ever seen. It's just junk.

I am sure there were many aspects to the decision, but the most obvious I would think is that the races would just be better elsewhere.

OCRS (historically a tulsa area series) - cancelled their show(s) there - do you have an opinion on that as well? or do they get a pass because you don't have personal grudge with them? I don't know their reasons for not running - but I saw enough in the 5 shows I have witnessed there to clearly see sprint car racing at that track is not CONSISTENTLY good. As a fan - I will grimace every time I drive by exit 211 - and then smile as I get more distance between me and it on my way to Port City.

But instead of anything substantive - all you can come up with is rubbish about the title sponsor of ascs? How about enlightening us and let us know - what exactly does any of that have to do with this? What does Lucas Oil sponsor money have to do with ASCS' decision on whether or not to run a crap track under a crap promoter?

my understanding it was a disagreement between Hahn and the promoter. The details on the disagreement I have no clue about.

Correction......

OCRS did NOT cancel the show on June 12th with Creek County Speedway. CCS had the ASCS-2 show the night before and it was determined that the OCRS race would come off the schedule per request of the promoter and a rescheduled date would be addressed. At this time, a new date hasn't been determined and OCRS is waiting for the track to make a decision.
