I'm memory and celebration of a very important man to the sport we all love, Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway is dedicating the race to Jimmy Evett who passed away last week.
He always gave me sound advice and always shot me straight and loved having a track in his backyard to take his grandson racing.

Jimmy was one of the best . A great guy to be around with a great love for sprint car racing. I remember when we first started racing sprints jimmy was one of the guys that gave me the most advice. You could always count on him to shoot straight with you and help out in any way he could. We had many hours of standing around talking racing with Richard Harvey at Stinger Chassis and i always looked forward to the times together. He will not only be missed by Brad , Johnathan and the Evett family , he will be missed for a long time by those he came in contact with. He always had a big smile and a hardy laugh and just made you feel good to be around him. Hope you have a great memorial race in his honor and i also hope its just the first of many years to come. This would be one i would like to come out and race in , in the future. Best wishes to all the Evetts, God bless.

As long as I have anything to do with this track there will be an Evett Memorial. Jimmy always shot me straight and gave me sound advice. He was a great man and Jonathan and his team are a true reflection of the kind of man he was.
I invite those of you with stories about Jimmy to share on the 17th.
If sprint car racing was our city, he would be our Mayor.
