Hi racer84 We will be staying in West Des moines from 4thto the16th Aug and traveling each nite to Knoxville and to the 2 nites at Oskalossa. It takes

about an hour to get to Knoxville not mutch longer to Oskalossa and the roads are good

Highway 5 to 92 is a real nice and easy drive. Word of advice with any big event that pulls in extra people all the small town police and county police step up enforcement along that highway pretty good at night after the races. If your traveling to Osky I'd take highway 163 it's alittle better, but fair traffic leaving Des Moines could be alittle heavier but not too bad.

Hello Racer 84,

We are the Hunnicutt's and will be staying at the same Value Place that was brought to our attention by a fellow "Hoser".After 35 years of attending the Nationals we,too, have become familiar with the area and look forward to renewing old friendships. We kind of lost touch with Des Moines after staying in Knoxville for about 25 years so we will be exploring some new eating places I imagine.

We will be traveling in my black 2008 Chevy HHR which is distinctive by a red stripe and a CARB decal on the back window.Look for us and say Hello.I think we will be hanging around the NSCHoF a great deal.Bud is always smiling (and talking).

Thanks for your Reply.

I fly into DesMoines on the 9th. Am doing the IronMan 55 on the 6-7.

Atm i have a room booked in DesMoines city for the 9th to the 12th.

Am looking to see from the 12th to the 15th or 16th (pending on when that person is leaving) if i am go in share accommadation/car so it is cheaper for all.

What nights are you travelling to Oskallossa.

Regards Terry

Talkiing about the police last year in knoxville they had unmarked cars and un-uniformed officers which i think is a bit much but what are you gonna do

If you can get hooked up with those two you'll have a great time!!! I wouldn't be surprised if they can even hook you up with another Aussie or 2 during the Ntls!!!!
