Just talked to my son who lives 10 min from the race track, told me that there has not been any rain all day long. No rain in the forcast tonite. Someone got scared. Typical for this promoter.

It has poured rain, hailed and have had thunder and lightning. Power is out in the hotel as well so I think it was a good call I'd have to say lol. It is absolutley pouring still.

That is just the Mr. Negative, calling his shots. Cmon Ned, give some one credit for something.

I didn't hear about the cancellation so drove up from Cottage Grove arriving shortly after 6 pm. As I approached the Hwy 34 turnoff from I-5, I could see showers out past Lebanon. Saw the races were canceled as I entered the Willamette Speedway facility. There was some standing water on the road inside. I climbed up on the outside of Turn 1 and took some pix.

Lebanon Turn 1-2

Lebanon Frt Straight and Grandstand

The track surface looked pretty wet with some standing water on the inside. It would have taken a lot of running in to get it decent for racing.

BTW, a local Personal Weather Station in Lebanon shows a total precip. for the day of 0.27 in. I would say the cancellation was justified.

Maybe racerdad's son not telling the whole story there.

Not sure what forcast he was looking at but weather.com and intellicast both had thunderstorms forecast for last night.
