OCRS SET FOR HAROLD LEEP JR. MEMORIAL

By John Lemon

Tulsa, Oklahoma (June 7, 2010) - The second annual "Harold Leep Jr. Memorial" race is set to go this Saturday night, June 12th after mother nature created a postponement from its May 15th scheduled date. As with last season, the event will take place in Ada, Oklahoma at the Oklahoma Sports Park. Moore Oklahoma's Frank Dittman was victorious in the inaugural running of this memorial event to honor a special racer.

Other drivers looking to stamp in their name as a winner of this special event will be Rafe "The Flying Farmer" Essary of Stillwell Oklahoma and OCRS defending champion, Jamie Passmore of Rose Oklahoma. Passmore leads Essary in championship points (427-420) in the run for the 2010 OCRS title. Former OCRS champion Mike Goodman of Tulsa will return for another try and his teammate, Travis "Hollywood" Jenkins of Broken Arrow will look to win two in a row after winning the feature race at Mid America Speedway over the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Beau and Whit Gastineau are racing brothers from Oklahoma City and are planning to compete as well. Whit was an OCRS winner at Humboldt Speedway on May 21st.

The last time OCRS sped around OSP was for the 3rd annual Oklahoma State Championship race last September. In that event, OKC's Andy Shouse took an exciting win by a mere nose over Norman's Danny Jennings. Shouse will buckle up for action in the Butch Roberts owned number 36 machine. Dittman is expected to be back to defend his "Leep Memorial" throne against Shouse and the other challengers that dare to knock him of.

Gates will open at 5pm with racing set to begin at 7:30pm. OCRS drivers meeting will take place at 6:30 with hot laps starting immediately after.

Oklahoma Sports Park is located 10 miles west of Ada on state highway 3.

According to car owners, this may be the largest turnout of sprint cars in Oklahoma this year for a well deserved show. Gates open @ 5:00. Drivers meeting @ 6:30. Races @ 7:30. Hope to see you there.

I have worked my butt off to honor Harold, but I have kept quiet about what I'm doing. You'll see.

Brian

I'll be working the staging area most of the night. If you get a chance, come by as I'd like to meet you. I will be in an OCRS shirt with white jeans. If not at staging area, might be at our trailer.

If going east on I-40, take the 1st Shawnee exit (hiway 77), follow it to Tecumseh, the road splits, take it to the right, follow hiway 3 into Asher (watch your speed there), after leaving Asher its 10 more miles on hiway 3. Track is on the left side of the road. Can't miss it!!!

See you all there!!
