I was in T-town today for a family dinner & went by Tulsa Speedway,Hwy 75 @ 66th street North.
I haven't been by in several yrs & I was both sickened & saddened.
The pictures that several have posted here & on other websites/blogs don't truly show the sad condition of the place.
If there are any tidbitters up Tulsa way, what is the ownership status of that land and is there any truth at all there could be a track put back in there??
The surrounding areas look pretty much the same to me . But I didnt go anywhere around but up to 66th from Tulsa & back on 75. I havent been there since an SCRA race in 1998?? I think??
Thanks.

I was talking to someone a few weeks ago about this . The person that I was talking to said that the lady that owns the land is crazy. There are many that share this same opinion.

When the auction was held at the speedway to sell off anything of value, that put the nails in the coffin. Nobody is going to put the kind of finances it would take to open it back up.

it would probably take half a million to get it ready for 1 race, maybe more.... the ownership isnt willing to sell because the land has been in the family since the land rush and there is a family graveyard on the property. also, they only want to give a 3 yr lease which is not even close to enough time to recoup the investment required to make it operational. there have been a few rumors of people wanting twenty year leases and being turned down. the only way there will ever be a dirt track in this area of that caliber is if someone builds a new one, or if the horse track goes belly up and all of the fairgrounds' neighbors go deaf....its a sad deal to go out there. i went out a few months back and my daughter was with me. she had gone there literally all of her life and it was a sad ordeal for both of us. i wish someone would flatten it all.
