Hall of Fame Classic Weekend Two Weeks Away!
(Bill W) Make plans now for Hall of Fame Classic Weekend at Knoxville Raceway June 3-5! Three exciting nights of racing action are planned featuring the World of Outlaws series, but there is much more in store!
The Thursday, June 3 show features full programs for both the World of Outlaws and the highly competitive 305 sprint cars. Finishing in the top 20 will be paramount for the World of Outlaws heading into Friday.
Friday, June 4, the intensity raises a bar as the top 20 feature finishers with the WoO on Thursday, will be inverted for a special feature unlike anything you will see on the WoO series this year! The remaining drivers will compete in a pair of B mains to determine the final four starters in what should prove to be some exciting action!
Also on Friday, the 18th Annual Masters Classic will run a full program for drivers over the age of 50. The event will feature time trials, heats and features. Eight-time Knoxville track champion and all-time feature winner, Danny Lasoski, is already entered in the Mark Burch Motorsports #1m, and with the World of Outlaws in town, you need to stay tuned to the pre-entry list as it changes by the day!
On Saturday afternoon, June 5, the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum will host their 21st Annual Induction Banquet. The banquet will be hosted by Dave Argabright and Pat Sullivan. It will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Inductees this year include Bobbie Adamson, Hank Arnold, Fred Linder, Frank Riddle, Hal Robson, Herman Schurch, Clyde Adams, Casey Luna, Don Shepherd, George Bentel, Fred Brownfield and Ben Krasner. For more information on the banquet, contact the call the museum at 641-842-6176, or visit their web-site at www.sprintcarhof.com.
Saturday night, the World of Outlaws will race another full program, joined by the 360 sprint cars in their quest for the Knoxville Championship Cup! Racing each night starts with hot laps at 6:45 p.m.
Several notable names from around the country have indicated they will be racing at Knoxville in June for three nights of important preparations for the upcoming 50th Anniversary Goodyear Knoxville Nationals, held August 11-14, 2010.
Don't miss out! For ticket information, visit www.KnoxvilleRaceway.com or call 641 842-5431 today!

Make plans now?
Heck, I made mine in February. I'm very much looking forward to Hall of Fame weekend.

2 B Mains for the Outlaws on Friday? Sounds good to me. Did anyone bring this up a few weeks ago when all they could do is complain?

Well Thursday and Saturday should be good! Friday is going to be a joke! Who gives a s*it about an inverted WoO feature... it will probably be good racing but to drive down there for an Outlaws weekend and only see them race once Friday in the inverted feature is a JOKE!

One of the best races I've ever seen was an inverted WoO show in about 93 or 94. Kinser in the Valvoline and Dude in the Caseys 47 on the WoO twin features night completely smoked the field and traded the lead about 7 or 8 times in the first feature. Lapped up to about 4th. The second was incredible watching them cut through the field and battle each other the at the same time. They finished 1&2 in that one also. One of those shows you'll always remember. I can't wait.

I actually started that thread when I asked about a discount if I were to buy the tickets ahead of time for all 3 days. The 2 B-Mains do sweetin the pie so God willing and the creeks don't rise we will be there

Hey Bill how are the B's lined up for Friday? Is it by qualifying from Thursday? Is Thursday for the 410's just hotlaps, 2 B's, and the inverted A?

It should be a great show with an unusual format. I'll be there all 3 nights. I'm looking forward to it.

Bill - where can we find a list of those racers entered in the Annual Masters' Classic sprint car race?
Sure makes you miss John Bankston, doesn't it? I hope they still honor John. And just off hand - I'd like to wish Ernest Jennings the best in the race - if he is going.

Hi Carol, the current list can be found on the Knoxville website. On the homepage, click on the "Events" box, then click on the Masters logo...

Bill, any idea whether Knoxville will be offering that for sale on the internet again, would be interested if I'm near a 'puter that weekend. Take It Easy...
PS Carol ol' pal, you still wear that Bankston T you had on the first day I met you at the Chili Bowl??

http://www.knoxvilleraceway.com/Events.aspx?id=6, I have noticed only 13 drivers have entered for the Masters Classic, it is 2 weeks from today. Looks like someone may be slow in in posting the entries or the Masters Classic has lost the luster it had.

I would expect the car count to go up to about 25. Last year if my memory serves me correct there was a full field in the feature. I think a lot of deals will be made with the local 360 cars within the next 2 weeks.

Thanks Bill - I just didn't know the right combination.
Pic 1940 - Thanks for the direct link.
Mike - of course I still wear my John Bankston t-shirt - but only for special occasions - sure don't want to wear that one out. I hope the trophy dash still honors John... wait - that is the fast time award. I believe John had the fastest qualifying time the last time he was there. Mike, we missed you at the Chili Bowl the last few years.

I made plans in feb. cancelled them a few weeks ago, I have never really thought the masters were a great race, there might be 25 of only about 10 of them will race hard and Sammy will lap half of them. I would expect the friday Woo show to only have 35 cars so two watered down B features and an A feature that I bet will only pay show up points will make for at best an average night, just not worth my money. I still might make the trip for saturday only,

35 410's mostly topnotch, 2 B-mains, a 20 car invert for a WOO A-main plus the masters classic program doesn't sound like a bad night at the track to me. Kudos to Knoxville for doing something different.
