Lassiter Leads NCRA Mods into Cowtown Clash

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Midwest City ,Oklahoma – May 16, 2010 - Current series points leader Mickey Lassiter leads a strong contingent of modified drivers into the Lone Star State this coming Saturday night as the O'Reilly/NCRA modified south division makes their second appearance of the season at Cowtown Speedway in Kennedale, Texas.

It has been a little over two months since the division has seen action with Enid, Oklahoma's Dusty Robbins having visited victory lane at Elk City's I-40 Speedway. In the first appearance of the season at Cowtown Speedway in the opener back in March it was former O'Reilly/NCRA modified north series champion John Allen of Chanute, Kansas taking the victory atop the fast 'lil quarter mile oval.

After two races, Lassiter comes into the race weekend with a slim ten point advantage over Moore, Oklahoma's Alan Oliva and Tulsa driver Chad Davis. C.A. Nix of Lawton currently sits fourth in the point standings but has sold his racing equipment. Nix is currently looking for a ride and could be close to putting something together for this event. Thomas Tillison, Jr. currently sits fifth in the point standings, just fifty points out of the points lead.

Rounding out the top ten in point standings and driver expected to compete include Matt French (Tulsa), John Webb (Pauls Valley), defending division champion Gene Weaver (Amarillo, Texas), Jason Hilliard and Chris Cole (Lawton). Other tour regulars include Logan Cabbell (Quail, Texas), Jay Sale (Edmond), Brian Wolfe (Cromwell), Jim Pearcy (Springfield, Missouri), Alan Sharpensteen (Amarillo, Texas), Chris Roach (Warr Acres), Ed Dunn (Lawton), Colt Goodman (Chandler) and Casey McClaskey (Ponca City).

A strong field of local drivers are also expected for this $1000 to win, $200 to start feature finale event which will see drivers draw for position in their heat race with passing points being utilized for the qualifying "B" features and "A" feature lineups. Among them include Jacob Pirkle, Jarod Webb, Troy Taylor, Triston Dycus, Glen Hibbard, Sean Jones, Randy Kirkland and Clyde Dunn, Jr.

With the top drivers in the O'Reilly/NCRA modified south division and the Cowtown Speedway Saturday night regulars, consider this as the "Cowtown Clash" of sorts.
