Anyone got any results from the sprint portion at Wilmot Saturday night? The midget results are already up from Badger. Curious who won and how many sprints they had in the house.

There were 24 sprint cars. Goeden won, Sexton Jr second with one spark plug wire off, Kristan was third with his 360 car led for while. Patrick Haynes Jr. fourth Dave Uttech fifth, Todd Daun sixth, Scott Young seventh.

Unofficial...This is just what I think I saw~

Wilmot Outlaw Sprints Heat Race (10 Laps)
1. Todd Daun, Daun 36 [1];
2. Brian Kristan, Kristan 5 [2];
3. Billy Hafemann, Hafemann 2B [4];
4. Patrick Haynes, Haynes 5H [3];
5. Darrell Dodd, Dodd 11D [5];
6. Jereme Schroeder, Schroeder 43 [6];
7. Michael Dubs, Dubs 79 [7];
8. Rusty Egan, Egan [8].

Passing points system with the Top-16 to the A Feature using a Top-10 redraw. Daun with the immediate lead over Kristan using his 360 cu. in. power plant. Daun leads this deal by about a straightaway by the 3rd lap mostly single file on a tacky surface. Haynes and Hafemann swap the 3rd spot for a moment with about one-to-go. Schroeder puffs smoke in the late stages through the turns.

Second Heat Race
1. Tommy Sexton, Dworak 83D [2];
2. Kris Spitz, Spitz 4K [1];
3. Scotty Young, Young Auto Sports 3 [4];
4. Mark Wernes Jr., Wernes 22 [3];
5. Ryan Irwin, Irwin 49 [5];
6. Mike Hess, Hess 18 [7];
7. Nick Alden, Alden 8A [6];
8. Craig Lager, Lager 52B [8].

Sexton with the lead over Spitz, Young, Wernes and Alden out of turn 2. By the 3rd lap, Sexton has a nice straight away lead. Young puffs a bit of smoke around the 5th lap. After some rubbing leaves front wing askew, Irwin takes the 5th spot from Alden on the 6th lap using the low line through turns 3-4. Sexton had just about caught Lager by the Checkers.

Third Heat Race
1. Donny Goeden, Walldan 11G [4];
2. Johnny Fahl, Fahl 0 [2];
3. Dave Uttech, Uttech 68 [6];
4. Adam Schroeder, Schroeder 42 [1];
5. Chris Dodd, Dodd 01 [8];
DNF-6. Jimmy Sivia, Sivia 2B1 [7];
DNF-7. Matt VanDerVere, VanDerVere 10V [3];
DNF-8. Justin Springer, Springer 28 [5].

Fahl leads Goeden, Schroeder, Uttech out of turn 2. Yellow is out on the 2nd lap after VanDerVere and Springer (making his Sprint Car debut) collide low in turns 3-4. Both to the trailer on the hooks. Uttech takes to the low line in turns 3-4 on the 4th lap for the 3rd spot. Yellow is out on the 6th lap after Sivia slides wide in turn 1, half-spins and stalls. Dodd soft-spun into the stalled car and Sivia was pit side on the hook. Goeden in his season debut takes the lead on the 7th lap using the high line through turns 3-4 after slight contact with Fahl out of turn 2 seconds earlier.

WOS B Feature (10 Laps)
1. Jereme Schroeder [2];
2. Jimmy Sivia [1];
3. Matt VanDerVere [5];
4. Rusty Egan [6];
5. Craig Lager [7];
6. Nick Alden [4];
DNF-7. Justin Springer [8];
DNF-8. Michael Dubs [3].

Schroeder leads Sivia, Alden, Dubs and Egan in this deal to see if the Top-4 can transfer. Dubs takes the 3rd spot out of turn 2 on the 3rd lap. Yellow is out on the 4th lap after Egan spin/stalls in turn 1. Under caution, Dubs stalls with something locking up down the backstretch, done for the night. VanDerVere inherits the transfer for the restart which he takes the 3rd spot using the low line through turns 1-2. Springer ducks pit side on the 6th lap just as the Yellow is out after Alden slows out of turn 2 which catches Lager to tag him in the tail tank. Both restart the Green-White-Checker finale which saw no changes.

WOS A Feature (20/25 Laps)
1. Donny Goeden [6];
2. Tommy Sexton [5];
3. Brian Kristan [2];
4. Patrick Haynes [7];
5. Dave Uttech [4];
6. Todd Daun [3];
7. Scotty Young [8];
8. Kris Spitz [10];
9. Billy Hafemann [9];
10. Mike Hess [16];
11. Darrell Dodd [13];
12. Matt VanDerVere [19];
13. Ryan Irwin [14];
14. Jereme Schroeder [17];
15. Chris Dodd [15];
16. Johnny Fahl [1];
DNF-17. Rusty Egan [20];
DNF-18. Adam Schroeder [12];
DNF-19. Jimmy Sivia [18];
DNF-20. Mark Wernes Jr. [11].

Fahl with the short-lived opening lead over Kristan, Uttech, Goeden, Daun and Haynes. Kristan takes that lead down the backstretch. Goeden into the 2nd spot entering turn 3 on the 2nd lap. Yellow is out on the 6th lap after Egan spins/stalls in turns 3-4. Kristan, Goeden, Fahl, Uttech, Sexton, Haynes, Young and Hafemann to the short-lived restart. Fahl spins on that ensuing restart in turns 1-2. A. Schroeder would spin on the next restart after getting tagged in the tail tank in turn 2. Red is out on the 3rd try after Wernes ends upside down out of turn 2, he was Ok, but done for the night. Sivia had spun near the incident and was done as well on the hook. Hafemann slides out of turn 2 on the next restart and falls deep into the field as Goeden takes the lead from Kristan through turns 1-2 next time around. Sexton takes the 3rd spot around the 9th lap as Daun nearly loses the grip out of turn 2 and falls to about 9th. Goeden catches the tail end of the field around the 12th lap. Yellow is out on the 16th lap after A. Schroeder rides up-and-over an infield tire barrier low in turns 1-2 and done for the night. Goeden leads Sexton, Kristan, Haynes, Uttech, Daun, Young, Spitz, Hafemann to what Officials now cut short this deal to twenty laps due to curfew restrictions after Egan spins on the 17th lap in turns 3-4.

A little suprised to see no Kertscher, Mock, Reinke or S. Uttech there last night. I did notice all but Kertscher were chasing dreams in Knoxville. Running around the big track must be worth the tow.

$600 to start at Knoxville is probably a nice incentive to tow down to Knoxville and give it a shot compared to $200 to start at Wilmot. I think next Sunday there could be a nice field at Wilmot since there are no other options on Sunday for Wilmot, IRA or MSA regulars.

What dream would they be chasin? What is it like $750.00 to win at Wilmot, hardly worth drivin 30 miles down the road for.

Have to give Mock, Uttech, and Reinke credit, they got off the porch.

According to knoxvilleraceway.com Reinke was 11th last week, that would be considered chasing a dream I guess. Seems as though he had problems last night with a dnf in the heat and a dns in the B.

Also heard (now this is just rumor) Reinke will be spending most Saturday nights at Knoxville this summer.

I'm all for "giving it a shot" and I pull for the IRA guys when they go down there but an 11th, 12th and a DNS in the B doesn't do a whole lot for the race fund especially with a 7hr drive. Lets face it their not towing their trailers with a PRIUS. Wilmot seems to be on the rite track hopefully someday racers will tow here instead of away.

The drivers mentioned all have car owners & they make the calls sometimes on when and where their car runs so maybe it was not a choice for the drivers.

$750.00 to win in 1982 seems a bit low for then also, however that is almost 30 years ago, should probably be something like $3500.00 today....

As far as Wilmot, what time did everything get started, I walked out last year after no wheel's had been turned and that was almost 9pm. I have better things to do than watch track prep, sorry!!

$20 admission for $1000 to win show? This Saturday I'll be paying $25 to get in for $10,000 to win $700 to start Lucas Oil race.

Remember that show had 410 sprints and Badger midgets. Heck the midgets probably had a larger purse than the sprint cars. I have to agree still a couple of bucks high in my book but not totally out of lunch. Heck, I always get stuck with the $25 pit pass no matter what the show pays.

Here is the pricing from the Wilmot webpage.

SPECIAL EVENTS:
IRA, BADGER MIDGET, UMP LATE MODEL SPECIALS
ADULTS 12 AND OVER - $20

CHILDREN 8 - 11 YEARS OLD - ALWAYS $5

UNDER 7 YEARS OLD - FREE

REGULAR 410 SPRINT NIGHTS
ADULTS 12 AND OVER - $15
