Up, Down and Over for Simpson Racing at Silver Dollar Speedway
May 3, 2010…Rio Vista, Ca…Last Friday night had a little of everything for the Simpson racing two car team as the Silver Dollar Speedway open the 2010 season.
It was Danielle Simpson's first appearance at Silver Dollar in a 410 sprinter and she qualified in the 20th position with dad, Dan, qualifying in the 15th spot. Danielle was up first in the second heat and she brought home the D.E.S., DryVac, Simpson Percheron, Flowmaster number 6up in the sixth spot. Dan's heat was up next and he finished a strong second spot in his Maxim, Kistler powered number 4s.
The main event proved t be challenging for many of the participants with no less than four cars got upside down in the main. Danielle started 20th and she had worked her way up to 12th when she hit a rut and flipped the car three times and was unable to restart the main finishing 19th. Dan started in the 12 spot and managed to take his tight race car through the accidents and developing ruts to finish the night in 11th after the 25 lap feature.
After the first week of the Feather Falls Casino, Silver Dollar Speedway series, the 4s of Dan Simpson in the DES, DryVvac, Flowmaster Mufflers # 4s sits tied for 10th in the overall points and the young rookie, Danielle Simpson is 19th in points aboard her DES, DryVac, Simpson Percherons number 6up. The next race for the Father/ Daughter Simpson team is this Friday and Saturday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway with the second round of the Feathers Falls Casino series on Friday and the Dave Bradway Memorial Golden State Challenge Series round #7 set for Saturday.
