OCRS SPRINT CARS READY FOR SHOOTOUT AT WILD WEST SPEEDWAY

By John Lemon

Tulsa, Oklahoma (May 4, 2010) - With two showdowns in the books this season, the outlaw banditos of the Tulsa Oklahoma based gang known as the “Oil Capital Racing Series” will be lurking for a shootout at the Wild West Speedway (formerly Clinton Motor Speedway) this Saturday night in Clinton, Oklahoma. Last Saturday night, in the hills of Tri-State Speedway in Pocola Oklahoma, a shadowy figure known as Rafe “Snake Eye” Essary of Stillwell outshot a full gang of mischievously wild and untamed sprint car banditos for his initial victory of the 2010 racing season.

Unlike last season when Snake Eye waited till the last shootout of the year to take the victory stroll down main street, Essary left no doubt he was the feared one when he shot down his competitors in battle to win handily. This Saturday night, the sprint car banditos will look to get revenge on Essary and they will seek to take a bag full of gold back to their hideouts for their troubles.

There are no shortages of vagabonds anticipating leaving town with the loot offered up by Wild West Speedway promoter Joe “Caretaker” Madore. One such invader is Tulsa’s Mike “Slinger” Goodman. Slinger is the current OCRS championship point leader and is always packing heat for more action. Of the four previously contested races held at WWS by OCRS, Goodman has won 3 of them. His (team) partner in crime, Travis “Hollywood” Jenkins is off to a fast start in 2010 and has shown that he is out to take no prisoners this year. Then there is 17 year-old Shayla “Miss Kitty” Waddell of Oklahoma City. She has proved to be a real challenge as she sits sixth in the OCRS point standings. Chris "Sharpshooter" Lloyd of Moore will ride into town for a piece of the action as well. Several more gunslingers will be in attendance to partake in the showdown on the high-banked 3/8 mile corral.

Caretaker Madore will open the gates at 5pm. Race fans can checkout the goods at the "General Store" and the "Saloon" at that time. The OCRS banditos will hold their meeting at 7pm with the "Showdown" getting underway at 8pm.

Wild West Speedway is located at Interstate 40 exit 66 (Hwy 183), 2 miles south look for sign on east side of road, turn east and go one mile County Line Road (ECR1070).

Phone number is: 580-323-3993.
