$2K/win Cowtown ASCS Sprints at Palm Harbor Homes Night April 17

Kennedale TX (4/12/10) by DarinShort.com. All eyes of the racing world will be on the Ft. Worth area this coming weekend with NASCAR races during the day at Texas Motor Speedway – and the ASCS Sprint Car Series returns to Cowtown Speedway on Saturday night, April 17.

This is an official ASCS sanctioned point’s event for the sprint cars and will pay the A-feature winner $2,000 and pays down to $250 to start.

Held during NASCAR weekend at Texas Motor Speedway, Cowtown Speedway has become the night racing option for TMS fans looking to catch some great action. Cowtown is known for running a fast and efficient show, so you can come watch a great night of racing and still get a decent night’s rest before Sunday’s NASCAR race.

In addition to a full racing program of ASCS Sprint Cars, the LSDCC.com Dwarf Cars, Performance Transmissions raceTX.com Limited Modifieds, Cowtown Bombers and Winged 600’s will round out the racing action. Each of those classes will be racing for additional purse money.

But the fun doesn’t stop there.

Palm Harbor Homes (
www.PalmHarbor.com ) will host another of their Family Fun nights featuring frenzied wheel-spinning prizes, a variety of www.lang14.com racing souvenirs – and the catalyst for bringing the evening’s 50/50 drawing to dizzying heights…possibly over the $1,000 mark, which happened on two PHH Family Fun nights at Cowtown in 2009. You will want to make sure you stop by their display located behind the grandstand to get in on the action.

Fast Facts for the ASCS Sprint Car/PHH Family Fun night at Cowtown Speedway, on Saturday April 17th:

-Spectator Grandstands open at 5pm; adult tickets are just $15, with kids 6-11 $5, ages 3-5 $2. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the track website at no additional cost. Reserved-seat tickets are available for $18 adults and $9 for ages 11 and under.

SATURDAY 8:30AM RACE DAY UPDATE:

On the weather 'front,' there appears to be a shower that's going to pass through around 9am and appear to last less than an hour.

Bo is going to reassess at that point.

The slow moving low pressure center causing this difficult to predict weather is now moving north...so we'll see how everything looks in a couple of hours.

www.CowtownSpeedway.com will have any official announcements posted immediately after any updates are available.

4/17 SATURDAY MORNING 10:15AM UPDATE:

This pesky weather system is not cooperating and even after this shower passes by there is still a good chance of scattered rain tonight, so we are cancelling tonight's races at Cowtown Speedway.

Join us next Saturday as the Modifieds compete for $1000/win plus a $1000 purse dash. Details are on the schedule page of the track website.

Then the following Saturday, May 1, when two lucky program numbers will be called out and those winners will compete in the Demo Derby at Cowtown that night! Each fan will be provided a fully-prepped Demo Derby car to compete with, along with pit passes and a helmet. They must sign the standard Cowtown Speedway release form prior to their entry into the pit area. If either winner would like to pass up on their chance to compete, another program number will be drawn until two drivers are ready to hop in and tear it up...and have a shot at the $750 winners prize, to boot!

For more details, visit www.CowtownSpeedway.com and click on the forum link.

Have a good weekend and weather pending, we'll see you next Saturday.
