Thanks to Greg Parent of GRP Motorsports, the first two nights of racing on the 2010 Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series (UMSS) calendar will pay $1,000 to win each night. These first two events will take place on Friday, April 23 at Kopellah Speedway and on Saturday, April 24, at Cedar Lake Speedway for the annual Billy Anderson Memorial. "I love sprint car racing and I want to continue to help the UMSS bring sprint car racing back to our area," said Greg Parent.

Almost half of the events during the 2010 UMSS season will pay $1,000 to win:

April 23 - Kopellah Speedway - $1,000 to win
April 24 - Cedar Lake Speedway - $1,000 to win
June 5 - North Central Speedway - Kouba Memorial - $1,200 to win
July 9, 10 and 16, 17 - Elko Dirt Nationals with IMCA - $1,000 to win each night
September 4 & 5 - North Central Speedway - Mighty Axe Nationals - $1,000 to win each night
September 25 - Arlington Raceway with IMCA - $1,000 to win

On April 23rd at Kopellah, hot laps begin at 6:30 with racing starting at 7:00. On April 24th at Cedar Lake Speedway, hot laps begin at 5:30 with racing starting at 6:00.

For more information on the UMSS, go to www.umsprints.com or call Ron Bernhagen at 612-363-5302.

The UMSS is a value-based sprint car organization bringing open wheel racing back to the Twin Cities area by establishing reasonable rules for the participant, an economical purse structure for the race tracks, and an affordable race ticket and fan-friendly program for the race fan.

Thanks again to Greg and Ron for their generosity, dedication and hard work in bringing life back to Sprint Car Racing.

It looks like it could be possible for other individuals, families, teams and corporations to help with the payout?

I can't wait for the season to get going. I should be at almost all of the shows. I will be helping Ron out and hanging around the Koubas to learn as much as I can. See you at the track, Stan.
