80% chance of storms on saturday - and cold and north wind sunday.........

um, think I'll pass. It's not like there isn't anything else going on this weekend lol. Just happens to be one of those rare weekends when you can stay indoors, stay warm, and watch one of the best/most entertaining sporting events in the world (NCAA tournament). or go to the pub and watch it too.

Gene Weaver out in Amarillo swears to me that a place called Bone Daddy's in Texas puts the HOOTERS girls to shame. Told me I need to check it out next time I am in Dallas area or Amarillo.

I text Will Hale (ASCS flagman) and others on Monday when a blonde waited on me and I about died and went to Heaven. He asked if I lived at HOOTERS and told him every Monday and Friday and sometimes on Wednesday when the male hormones are acting up.

Rain chances down to 20-30% Saturday a.m., just gonna be a bit on the chilly side Saturday night. A pre-race stop at Twin Peaks, Hooters and/or Bone Daddy's should be enough to make for a great Saturday...

I will be watching the weather closely come Saturday morning but it almost looks as though further south you go the better you will be. With that said, looks as though I may make "Da Bowl" my choice on Saturday nights. Now, I have been to the HOOTERS in Mesquite but where is Bone Daddy's in Mesquite?

Thank you much in between this topic of Devils Bowl weather and establishments for mens hormones.

I appreciate your warm thoughts as to what I do with my duff. lol j/k man.

But I will still abstain. I think friday could be pleasant (although it will still be cold with the wind bangin out the south after sundown) but Saturday's forecast is just too much. it wont be 48 degrees for most of that night - it will be near or below 40 - now thats cold enough in its own right - you throw a harsh north wind in that.........screw that! lol. We've all sat through races like that before - and honestly - its not any fun. There just comes a point when the conditions prevent the evening from being enjoyable. I hope for those that do go - that it does not reach that point, BUT, I will say, if it does reach that point - I will view the same race a few weeks later from the absolute comfort of my recliner. I have a feeling that national telecast is going to show some pretty thin stands on saturday....

I'm conflicted about it, but as I said before, not like there is nothing else to do. Probably because I'm a hardcore college basketball fan - I've been watching this shit every single night since late november - literally every night it is on. Even if it was nice down there - still would probably not go. but I would at least have to pause lol. Like many, I'm on a budget when it comes to what races I go to - and considering the loss of 1 of my 2 weekly tracks - to create 2 race weekends will take traveling. For what it would take to go to Devils Bowl - I could go to several 2 night Port City shows, friday night CCS races, 2 day ASCS2 shows, etc. etc. There is going to be a lot of shows in the coming months that wont be so cold.........I'd rather save my dough for Knoxville 360 Nat's, possibly Jetmore, and just many 2 race weekends where I'll still have to travel (just about half the distance). Actually hoping to attend some new tracks this year - mostly in Missouri (still havent seen a race in that state suprisingly). And with Lucas Oil in Wheatland and Lake Ozark having some really big sprint shows this year - even from right now I will trust their weather will be better lol. I'm still shooting to attend 60+ races this year (well over half of them micro shows). But I made my Texas trip a couple weeks ago for Cowtown - and the weather was decent, and it was a very good race - on the flip side the forecast for the Bowl looks like sh*t - and honestly - I'm not a big fan of the racing that track produces. Although if its windy as all hell out of the south on friday - for once it might not be a locked down freight train on night 1. but then again night 1 doesn't look like the issue - it's night 2 (or even possibly day 3).

The stunning part to it all is I am actually really looking forward to Meeker on the 27th. With no SFS and with Creek not opening til the next weekend - could be a lot of sprints. I think there will be a respectable field in all of the classes. But there is no race I look forward to with greater anticipation than the Ryan Craighead Memorial. But for this weekend - its all NCAA tournament - which has been GREAT so far........and on that note..........

I hope my fellow race fans have a safe trip and lots of fun down at The Bowl this weekend.

ummm.........

that just sounded a little weird! lol. j/k man lol. I-44 needs all the duffs it can get. Last year was really sad - of the near 20 races I saw there - all but 2 were of extremely high quality. The other 2 were just so-so, not even all that bad.

It would be cool for more to get out and at least check I-44 out - give it a good couple/few opportunities to show how good some of their racing can be. The non wing feature was exciting every race last year, and they started gettin the track in great shape the whole last half of the year - tacky as hell but smooth.

I look forward to seeing you out there Jeff. The Ryan Craighead Memorial is a must see there. It was the best race I saw all of last year - one of the coldest as well. Just hope the weather is good for that weekend. It's an awesome race. Best wishes for a safe drive back for you and others going to Texas this weekend. Hopefully it won't be as bad as they think and screw the roads up too bad...

The only Bone Daddy's I know of is on I-20 in the Arlington Highlands. I know there are more but that is the one I always go to.
