I just read this on the Devil's Bowl website... which goes along with my advice in the other post.

NORTH LAWSON ROAD CLOSED

There is not place for big rigs turn around.

Many of fans use US Hwy-80 and the Lawson Road exit to reach Devil's Bowl.

Lawson Road is now closed between US-80 and the railroad tracks.

Devil's Bowl recommends fans and especially racers towing race car rigs to use IH-20 and the Lawson Road exit to enter Devil's Bowl from the south.

The route may be a little longer, but is also much smoother.

I don't know what happened to that weird link (at least for me) - But the idea of going South on 635 to I-20 East and then to Lawson Rd. North is good. The short cut is to take the Cartwright Rd. /Bruton Rd. Exit (#3 exit) on 635 and go East on Cartwright to Lawson Rd. (about 7 miles - through residential and commercial ) on a 6 lane divided - then North (left) on Lawson (traffic light in the "country" to the Devil's Bowl.

The gas prices have soared. In one week they went from $2.57 to $2.47 to $2.58 at the Wal-Mart at Lake June & 635 (Exit #2) (as of Wed.). I saw prices other places - lowest at $2.63 to $2.74. They must know the Outlaws are coming to town.
