Ronnie was a hell of a driver I used to work on Jimmy Cofers sprinters and a old Frayser guy myself. Who was your dad that owned the 17 car Gene? One more thing , I can still remember that old Ford van you used to drive around in Rick.

I am also an old Frayser guy Spurgear. I think both of my older brothers went to Westside High School with Ronnie. I am younger than they are, so I don't know Ronnie. I used to like watching him race. What is Ronnie doing now??? I'm sure my brothers would like to know.

Here are a couple more of photos I took of Ronnie in the 17 car;
The black car is at Knoxville in June of 1980 sprouting one huge wing!
The white and yellow car is at Devils Bowl in 1982, looks like they switched to a Gambler.

Yea that was a good old van. It came out of my dad's wrecking yard in Ohio as did all my vehicles until I was in my mid 30's. It blew up once on the way to Eldora and I had it towed back to Memphis and our old friend Dannies Engine Service rebuilt it for me. RIP Danny.

Hey Danny how are you doing? Good for Jimmie tell him I said hello. I've been selling trucks for a Freightliner dealer here in Indy for 12 1/2 years now and doing fine, thanks for asking. You take care.

I personally like the "big tail"... not the small fuel tanks they put on them now. I bet with the real fuel tanks they could run the full 50 laps at Knoxville for their anniversary without a fuel stop. Sorry to interrupt the conversation - I've really enjoyed it. And - to Rick Ungar - thanks for all of the excitement watching you race. And thanks Porsche Pete for all of your photos. Sometime it would be fun to meet up.
