Santa Cruz, CA. Nestled on a mountain ridge overlooking the Monterey Bay, Santa Cruz's first annual Concours d'Elegance at Chaminade will be held September 3,4 and 5, 2010. This remarkable event will feature masterpieces from Canepa Design along with world-class cars that will impress and attract any automotive lover.Stroll the grounds of what is considered to be one of northern California's finest getaways featuring a choice selection of food and wine amongst the celebration of exquisite automobiles. Live and silent auctions, and for the ladies Yvonne's of Capitola will present "Lifestyles of Santa Cruz" a fashion show.An Ultimate Driving Tour is open to Concours entrants and their magnificent cars. This drive will take a few chosen rare, historic and valuable cars on a fabulous tour of the area. A limited number of tickets are available for the sumptuous awards dinner and raffle announcing the winner of the Corvette Convertible donated by Ocean Speedway.
Concours proceeds will benefit Children's Hospice and Palliative Care Coalition (CHPCC), an award-winning non-profit organization based in Watsonville, dedicated to improving care for children with life-threatening conditions. Through CHPCC's direct efforts, the federal government has approved a pediatric hospice eligibility waiver, dramatically changing the way in which seriously ill children are cared for in California. It is currently being launched in 13 California counties including Santa Cruz and Monterey. Each year on California's Central Coast, CHPCC's local program, Partnership for Children, provides more care coordination and emotional support to more than 100 families. Additionally, CHPCC provides more than 150 roundtrip rides to much needed medical treatment in San Francisco and Palo Alto for children and families who otherwise would have to take the bus.
