Go to www.knoxvilleraceway.com and vote in their poll on how many laps the Nationals Finale should be. I voted for 30 laps (sorry, I'm not a fan of fuel stops).
Choices on their site are
30 laps
40 laps with fuel stop
50 laps with fuel stop
Let your voice be heard, we may get what we want as fans. I know that the fairboard is looking for fan / team / driver input to make the Nationals more exciting and fun for everyone involved.

Voted, I've been goin' since 1977 and being that it is the 50th anniversary I personally would like to see a 50 lap A-main broken down into two 25 lap segments, but for fuel only, nothing can be changed on the car. I don't care for fuel stops but I believe this would be something worth trying, kinda like the Tuscarora 50 held at Port Royal. Oh, and if they still had the bigger tanks they shouldn't have to have a fuel stop. JMO. I'll be there no matter what they decide to run, 30, 40 or 50 laps.

I think the 50 for the 50th is ok but I'm voting for 30 as the standard. These are 'sprint' cars. I don't recall seeing sprint races in the Olympics stopping for a water break at 25 meters.

Voted for 50 as well..needs spiced up a little. Didn't they say last year that in the past even with 30
laps they were worried about cars running out of fuel? I'm tired of the "this isnt NASCAR" statements.
Looks to me like NASCAR is doin pretty well.

hell with fuel stops,, run 40/50 laps, if the crews are not smart enough to put enough fuel in too bad. and if they want to run a midget tail tank, too bad.... lets quit screwing up a good race /////////// ya gotta be wise enough to account for yellow flag laps....

2008 (the last year of a 30 lap Saturday Night "A" Main)- 2009 was 40 laps with a fuel stop.

I love the debates about fuel tanks and fuel stops!!!!!
Bushwacker's comment above got me thinking the same thoughts I've thought hundreds of times... FEATURE IS 40 LAPS. NO FUEL STOP.
"but we run these little bitty midget tanks that are light... we can't make it 40 laps."
I GUESS YOU WON'T WIN THEN, HUH?
Set the distance. Tell them to have a tank that holds that much fuel... or pay the consequences.
Come on! These teams have chrome plating on their chrome plating! Nothing about sprint cars makes any sense... let alone the finances. Having to run a larger tank a few times a year or when the weight helps on a heavy track... that won't bankrupt teams. If it does... go run street stocks. Sprints are the baddest of the bad... keep them that way.
Survival of the fittest.

I voted for 50 ..... sprint car races always seem too short for me .... especially the 25 & 30 lap races.

40 laps with at least a little cushion left after 41
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

50 laps NO STOPS----just let them figure out how to make a tire last for 50 laps and maybe just maybe they could put on a bigger fuel tank on. I have lost about all interest in 410 winged sprint cars.

If the stop is for fuel only and Nothing else what would be so bad about it...Any yellow between lap 15 and 30 could easily be the fuel stop...Knoxville does not usually eat tires so that should not be a problem...50 laps with a fuel stop sounds like a great idea and adds extra excitement and more of a chance for someone to make a charge from deeper in the pack...How many times have you seen sprint car features where you were left wondering what would have happened if there were more laps left....LETS GIVE 50 A CHANCE AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS..............

It's the Nationals! If you can't make 40 laps on one load of fuel… what I'm supposed to do?

So TIRES are the issue now? Fuel stop for...TIRES?????????
Somehow... Silver Crown cars run 100 laps on a daytime mile dust/dirt/sand oval.
I'll bet... Goodyear makes a tire harder than SOFT, SOFTER or WAY TOO SOFT.
Why did Jason Sides win a big race at Eldora a few years back? Tire & fuel management as I recall. Smart racers can do that. Was he running 25 second laps? nope
Goodyear will need tires that can withstand very abrasive, tire chewing tracks. I would bet between today and Knoxville Nationals that they can come up with a tire that will last 40 laps. I'd bet you over 38 cents for sure.
