We had to change the rally location due to the fact the city told the fairgrounds it was both private and public property. The city said when events were going on the fairgrounds it is public property however when nothing was going then it was private property. And there is nothing else going on Jan 30 at the fair grounds so they are saying it is private property.

The new location is at Forest Building Supplies, which is located across the street from the grandstands at 300 May Ave OKC. Everything else stays the same.

I guess if it was so called cut and dried and a done deal they would not care.

And the parking lot at Forest Building Supplies across the street is large enough to do what we need to do.

if it is financed by county tax dollars that makes it public property thus the constitution guarantees the right to assembly

I agree but it is just another scare tactic, by the city and the mayor. They thought it would be easy and that we would give up when their lies were all over the media. They have been dishing out figures out of the sky and nothing to back it up with.

Win or not they will know we were there!!!!! And alot of things are working in our favor.

Freedom of speech and they don't want us to voice ours it looks like good media coverage is in the near future.

It is not over until the fat man sings and nobodys wants to hear me sing.Smile......

A couple of notes... on the poster you have mis-spelled "their" ... and it's "freedom of speech" not "speach" and I thought you replied earlier that the girl's name is "Mandy" - still says "Many" on the poster ... I don't mean to nitpick but may help the cause and image of same if the group appears to be literate... and educated rather than ... well ... umm ... not... I'd imagine the city leaders figure racers are just a bunch of beer-swilling-rednecks ... no need to reinforce that opinion however misguided it may be ... just saying that proof-reading published information would be a positive...

I am sorry but we are on a shoe string budget trying to Save State Fair Speedway and doing the best that we can. The group of Fans, Drivers and Car Owners that are trying to save the Speedway are dedicated and very proud of what we are trying to accomplish to save state fair speedway.

And when it comes time for the show down we have people in place to take that role.

Come and find out at the ORA meeting Jan 20th and at the Rally Jan 30th.

We will be selling t-shirts and stickers at the Chili Bowl and at the Rally Jan 30th plus having other fund raisers to help to finance our fight to Save State Fair Speedway.

Thank You....

Just one question: WTF is the promoter in all of this? It's his business that is threatened but it's up to everyone else to save the joint? At least a quote from him saying how important this is to everybody and that he is ready to step up and drive it home once the victory is won would make this whole deal make a hell of a lot more sense to me.

Actually, far as I know, there are 3 known Hall Of Fame promoters running around here somewhere.

Lanny Edwards is dealing with the lawyers.

Emmitt Hahn, since he has lost his OkC ASCS date, is letting the fine OkC citizens assemble at the Chili Bowl.

AND, Shane Carson is providing the whole thing with film and anything he can do to help.

We're not saying we're gonna win, but it's gonna be a good fight.

Um...unless your county has a constitution guaranteeing the right to assembly, you might be out in left field using this arguement. I'm just sayin'.......

Brain is right Lanny is providing us with legal services. WE are all helping each other. WE are one big team. WE are in constant communication with him.

The truth is, our City Leaders have been less than honest about the fate of our beloved Dirt Track. They want to make a Grand Entrance off of North May Ave. (the normal entrance to the race track) for the Horse Community.

We have co-exsisted with them for 55 years. Oklahoma City held the (NFR) National Finals Rodeo at the Fairgrounds before they moved the event to the Myriad Covention Center in downtown OKC.

They soon lost the National event to Las Vegas. The National Cowboy Hall of Fame has also moved from Oklahoma City and from the State. The current site is no more than a museum and is barley surviving.

Although OKC has landed a major league basketball team. With their record it is only a matter of time that we as Tax Payers realize that our hard earned money was all for not.

State Fair Speedway (Fairgrounds Speedway) has been a staple for 55 years and holds more history than anything OKC's Mayor, City Council, or the Fair Board can dream up.
