I know some of you guys went to Reeds during the season and he gave the drivers a discount or in some cases did the work for free, I remember reading an article on here to where an employee from Reeds went to a hotel here in Knoxville and picked up the sprint car radiator went back to the shop fixed it and then brought it back to him around closing time and didn't get the radiator back to him till after the shop closed. Well here maybe a month ago Reed's automotive's back shop burnt down due to a fire that is undetermined at this time, the back shop was a total loss according to the owner. I was in there a couple of days ago to see if he needed any help and he said that he couldn't do anything untill the 7th of jan. on the 7th of jan is when the fire investigator is suppose to come down and before they go through the shop they are meeting with firefighters who made entry into the shop, the weird part of this story is do you remember Austin that worked at the shop that everyone was talkin about? Austin is the guy who picked the radiator up pulled the driver from the car during the fire but Austin is also a firefighter for the rural fire department in Knoxville, Austin was the first firefighter into the shop and from stories on the local radio station was in there with another firefighter from his department for over an hour and half by thereselves putting this fire out. So when it comes time to rebuild the shop to give Austin his job back for all that he has did for the racing community and also the shop its time to give back and help this process.
The addy to the shop is

As you should all remember...Austin was also the guy on the Knoxville fire crew that pulled Mike Houseman Jr from his burning car.

Dick Reed always goes above and beyond the call when it comes to helping the community. Hope to see a lot of people around when it's time to return the favor.
