Racin' Jason Lands Wss Gold At Tyrepower Parramatta
Posted Sunday, 6 December 2009 by PCR Media

American Jason Johnson played every correct card in the deck tonight to win the Performance Wholesale World Series Sprintcar 30 lapper at Tyrepower Parramatta Raceway.

The Cajun sensation set second fastest qualifying time behind Australian champ Garry Brazier and wound up on the front row with NT speedster Danny Reidy who was a model of consistency.

Reidy smoked the field into the first turn and took off like the lights were about to go out.

He set up a big gap on Johnson with Brazier a solid third and Adrian Maher always in the thick of things for a solid fourth.

Brazier picked off the American when he had a moment and closed on Reidy at an alarming rate.

Their positions were changed a lap or so later when the NT driver got his second wind and beat off Brazier just as Johnson's car began to work on the bottom of the track.

He held tight to snatch the lead away from Reidy and won the 30 lapper much to the delight of his crew who were over the moon.

Reidy had no excuses for his runner up role.

Nor did third home Brazier who told the crowd how he showed Johnson a quick way through the turns only to have the trick played on him.

WA ace Ryan Farrell was another to play the inside game late in the race as he flashed to fourth ahead of Maher and Robbie Farr who started up the back after car gremlins.

His crew spent two heats trying to get the East Coast Pipe Line #7 machine started so Farr
had to come through the alphabet races to start in the main.

His journey was not as disapointing as Brooke Tatnell's path which led BT to finish out of the top ten.

The points table will reflect an indifferent night for Brooke, Robbie, Max and Mitch, but take nothing away from Jason Johnson who won fair and square and there can be no excuses.

Would duel citizenship be an advantage as far as taxes and anything else, for some of these guys like Johnson and Tatnell??

The United States don't allow duel citizenship.

I don't know whether they "allow" it or not, but there are many people in the United States that have duel citizenship with the U.S. and another country. I googled it and there it is.

Adding $6 trillion of debt in his 1st term and now if
elected again he wouldn't have to worry about an
electorate in 2016 so the sky is the limit. And his EPA
would continue to put the screws to oil drilling and
mining for coal. Can you say bankruptcy.

It was a good night of racing a TPCR.

Jason Johnson was all class in the 30 lap a-main. Johnson and Ryan Farrell were 2 drivers that started rolling the bottom and moved up. Brazier never showed Johnson the line because the most of the laps prior Johnson was on the bottom.

Serious issue happened on the night when the water truck made an appearance during the middle of a heatrace. It happened as the drivers took the green flag for heat 6. The yellow lights were brought on not before Peter Lack flipped wildly down the backstraight. Peter was ok but i would be throwing the damage bill towards the water truck driver which wasn't seen again.

Tatnell's car was never right on saturday with it pushing like a Model-T ford from the 1930's. In his 2nd heat he showed his class by using the highline to pass James Thompson about 10 metres from the finishing line. Both Tatnell and Farr in the main hit a the massive cushion which formed jumping them right off the track which seemed to damage the handling of the Krikke car even more.

Farr wouldn't of been so high in the results if they actually placed him back the 4 spots he made under yellow. He passed Max, Mitch Dumesny, 2 PCR drivers when the yellow was thrown. Farr then restarted after the race going back a lap infront of these 4 drivers.

Fastest to the rear format is the best way to show a class of sprintcar driver. This also give the newer driver the chance to race without the big dogs were being blown away within the first 2 laps.

Hi Keet ... it was Jason's first win at Parramatta after appearing to struggle there in recent years. We now have betting on PCR races (and others across the country), and while I have wagered and won on him at other tracks, I haven't been game enough to back him at PCR.

Nor did I on Saturday night unfortunately. But he was very impressive. Time trialled well, strong in the heats and then when it mattered I thought his race tactics were excellent. At one stage he may have dropped back to 4th or 5th in the gaggle of cars at the front, but delivered the goods at the end.

He'll be back for the $50,000 to win in early January so I'll try to convince my US visitor to back his countryman on SportsBet. I'm sure Stubb will need some beer money .....

Merry Xmas to you and the Bride's groom.

Yes Dual Citizenship is allowed. My wife has it & has for 10 years now. We pay taxes in both countries & live in Aus. Not sure if the law has has changed recently though.

I think Oscar put that very well .His Slide jobs to get the lead were brilliant .Oscar your a student of the sport .Is it Brookes car the problem at Parramatta not Brooke himself .Just for the record I backed Robbie

I'm not going there PCR Fan 2 ....

Brooke is far too experienced and far too good to have any phobias about PCR. After all, he has won at the track dozens of times. Presumably therefore you'd have to assume it's the car. I might be a student of the sport historically and rationally, but I wouldn't have a clue as to how to set up a car for one track compared to another, so leave me out of that one.

But something has rattled his cage at Parramatta lately and the last few years have not been kind at all.

I notice he is backing up again on Saturday night in a normal Club show. The odds aren't up yet, but if he's around the $7.00 mark, my money just might follow him around.
