Wondering, last I heard, Danny Schatz was given a month or so to get his ducks in a row. Any follow up?

Did you see this thread? Evidently it's a done deal - there was a news story linked in the first post in the thread linked to below ... but now the link leads to an empty page - used to give some details of his plans --

The last posts I read over on the 20/20 Late Model page was that Danny Schatz got the track for next season, they're leaving it as a half mile and are going to move their program to Wednesday nights. It's going to be a Wissota track running some of their weekly classes.

You can poke around on the 20/20 forum and you'll find plenty of info from people who attended the meetings as well as speculation about what classes they'll be running.

I'm sure that there will be some Sprint Car racing up there but probably more of a specials only deal than weekly shows. Any promoter in the upper Midwest is going to have to work with the predominant classes and fan preferences and that's going to mean Late Models, Modifieds, Midwest Modifieds, Super Stocks, and Street Stocks. They couldn't build their weekly show around Sprint Car racing up in that area and operate in the black. It is what it is.

Danny has the track for the next three years. He is holding a meeting Dec. 12th at the track, should know more after the meeting? It sounds like he will tell everyone what he has up his sleeve at that piont.

I was at the fair board meeting that decided he would for sure take it over. You might've saw my post on 20/20. He told the group I was with that he wasn't planning on bringing in Sprints weekly, and kind of mentioned that because he might only get 12-15 on a weekly basis, it wouldn't be an enjoyable show to watch for the fans. I believe he has really thought it out as far as making his investment a success. I would love to see him bring in a few Sprint shows next year, and maybe big enough shows that we could draw a wide variety of Sprints. It would be my dream that a "series" like the I-29 Gold Cup that GF, RRVS, and Husets had about 10 years ago leading up to Husets' Gold Cup would make a comeback. The WoO swing thru ND might negate something like that though.

Now my question is , if so, if our winged gods showered upon us , would it be 360 or 410 shows? I realize it would be few and far between, but, we need the exposure to the F A S T E R side

Yes, I saw your post on the "40" and a bunch of others on this topic. I live in Forest Lake, the closest tracks to me are Cedar Lake, Kopellah, Princeton and Ogilvie. I have never been to Fargo but have heard about it from fans and drivers. Anybody who follows Sprint Car racing in the upper Midwest is going to be watching this deal because it will affect Sprint Car racing all around the region.
