I just want to post this factual information on here so all people interested in the Enid Speedway situation will be better informed and help them make their plans for next race season! I talked with Steve Barnes the manager of the Garfield County Fairgrounds this morning and he told me the current track promoter is being released from the current contract pending signing of the release paperwork, which is supposed to be done soon. Hopefully within about a week or so, the minimum requirements for the next promoter will be available for interested parties at the Chisholm Trail Expo office. The notices will be published in the "Enid News" newspaper in multiple issues.......so be watching the paper if you are interested in "PROMOTING" the Enid track. The contract will be for the 2010-2011 seasons ( 2 year contract). Steve indicated to me, he was confident there will be racing in Enid next year. He also informed me there is a plan in the works to resurface the track this winter (weather permitting) with new clay in order to provide for better quality racing for the drivers and fans. I will update this post if any new information becomes available to me so all concerned can keep informed to provide a better racing situation for all of us.

Thanks

I appreciate you guys' comments....I'm just a small fish in a big pond trying to do my small part in dispelling any rumors and presenting facts as I get them. I actually approached Mr. Barnes with this idea of me posting this information in order to get factual information out to as many people as I could. I feel this is an avenue I have in order to get this info out to the people that really need it and want it. Hopefully we can pass this information around to as many racing friends as we can. It's not good to be in limbo, so if people have a clue about what is going on, they have a better idea of what to do (build a car, sell a car, quit or whatever) Hopefully we can get the guys back that have quit, lost interest, gone to other tracks or whatever in order to make this track work and hopefully get better. I'll post the dates the requirements will be available for inspection at the expo office when I hear about it or read it myself in the paper. . David, I would like to say thanks for giving us the opportunity to have a forum where we can can accomplish so many things related to our passion RACING

Thanks again

honestly, it needs resurfaced.

IMO it is the only thing that keeps the track from being one of the best.

If this track gets resurfaced and gets a good promoter at the same time.......

The rest will come back on its own and Enid will be back to the excellent racing that it once was

Agreed Jaydad I wish you guys and gals all the luck in the world, just stick together and keep Enid going. There does not need to be another track with great history closed because some people don't care about it anymore. Again good luck.....
