NCRA Announces Sanctioning of Cowtowns Fast 50
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Midwest City, Oklahoma - November 30, 2009 - Officials with the O'Reilly Auto Parts/National Championship Racing Association and Cowtown Speedway in Kennedale, Texas promoter Bo Rawdon have announced that the tracks annual February Fast 50 for modifieds, scheduled for Thursday-Saturday night, February 11-13, 2010 will be sanctioned by the Wichita, Kansas based series and will be the opening points race for the series Oklahoma modified division. The event will also kick off the 40th anniversary season for the series that sanctions races for not only the Oklahoma modified division but late model, 360 sprints, modifieds and southern modifieds as well.
It will be the series first ever appearance at the 'lil quarter mile dirt oval near Fort Worth and the first "Lone Star" state appearance for the series since their sprint car division competed at Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo back in 2001. Rawdon, who has revived the 46 year old facility with upgrades, produced a strong weekly show and numerous specials for sprint cars, micros and modifieds, is a former NCRA late model winner at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas back in 1986.
The event will open the second year for the O'Reilly/NCRA Oklahoma modified division where Amarillo driver Gene Weaver took home the inaugural championship and where the average car count for the five races that were held stood at 37 with ten drivers making all events.
More information on the annual "Fast 50" will become available during the next couple of weeks.
Series officials are continuing to work on the 2010 schedules for not only the Oklahoma modified division but all series divisions as well and will be officially released at the series banquet on January 30th, 2010.
