The fairboard meeting that the Enid promoters said was a closed door meeting is a LIE!!!!! It is at the Expo center tomorrow at 5:30 p.m.. They just don't want us there because they are doing everything in there power to give the track up. Don't know if it would help to show up since they don't want it anyway!

What you all need to do is go back to the years when it was good and try to get an average car count and attendence for each Saturday night of racing at the track. Don't know if you could do an estimate of concessions per night but see what you can do.

Also on the special dates that the track had, figure up what they were, how many were from out of town and show them that all those people from out of town spent money in the City of Enid via eats, gas, shopping, etc. Tell them the city gained taxes from those events.

Go in prepared and ask them if it is worth losing all that extra income/taxes by giving up the race track.

Just a thought......

You are correct. We live out of town.We raced at Enid every week.We spent $300.00 to $500.00 a week going to local stores and dinner. We had a good time.Plus family and friends that drove to Enid.My guess would be 25 people.

We truly need to come together as one and show with a real representation, just like David said in the post above, and I believe that we have to show up in huge numbers. If we dont show the interest now then it will probably be too late.

I hope anyone planning to attend will make it known on this thread, so we all can join together.

I will plan to attend

the underlaying problem still exist, with the fairboard keeping all the concessions. If they dont back off that then Enid Speedway will never have a chance, for the only people that could promote it would have to be using it as a tax write off. Keep in mind all the history that ats our track and the potential that is still here. I understand the aminosity towards longpine and colville but we should still speak our minds so a promoter can get in here and not have to lose 1500 every weekend.

just my 2 cents

You guys are also forgetting that when/if Longpine leaves he takes everything with him except the dirt and cemented grandstands. It may be to late to do any good for 2010 but you can let your voices be heard for 2011 and years beyond. I say let the fairboard know how you feel (no shouting but with facts) and what happens then happens.

There could be a scenario that they are playing out as well but we shall see.

Im not going to make it to the meeting for Im just now getting off work.

As for longpine taking his dirt equipment, water truck, and flags its always been that way when promoters change.

Seriously, that has little to do with the track. Anyone who plans on taking on this track will need their own dirt equipment, water truck, and flags.

Hopefully some good will come out of all this in one way or another

You did'nt miss much. The only thing for sure is if longpine wants out of his contract for next season he has to pay around $90,000 to get out of it.

Hey Jimmy,

What are the kids racing?

There going to be racing in the mini cup class. The cars go around 67 mph on the 1/4 mile track up there. A guy at Enid has one and put it on a half mile track and got it up to 110 mph. A little nervous but they are really into it and I'm just so happy to see the smiles on there faces. Heres the cars below, going to change the colors and numbers. There basically half scale nascar models. My son is 10 and my daughter is 12 so I thank this will be a good start for them and then move them up to a full size car. Whats your plans for next season?

Hey that will be great.you'll get over that nervousness about them racing before long and you'll forget there kids trying to get them to go faster.but you will have a blast with them.JRP is a great palce for the kids to race and those cars are very safe.Alf over there is just super with the kids.

The only thing you have to watch out for is this is a never ending deal once you've got the kid's started.i started mine at 5 in karts, now my 10 year old son is racing a mini sprint and an outlaw kart.my 14yr. old daughter has been racing a mini stock for a year and a half now running all last year with the adults and running 9 different tracks in 4 states in 2009.i just bought her a sport mod that she will run part time next year along with the mini stock.the season never ends for kid's races,we will go to kansas city to race at kemper arena in dec and the tulsa shootout indoors at tulsa fairgrounds new years weekend along with some more indoor races at springfield,mo and lebanon,mo. and harrah,ok.

hope you gauys have a good time and good luck and maybe we'll meet up at track somewhere next year.Gary

I'm giving $9,000 for the pair with allot of extra parts and these two cars finished the season first and second in the point standings but they range in different prices. Theres one in Enid race ready for around $2000 his name is Chris and his number is 580-484-0944 its a nice looking car. It looks just like Jeff Gordon's car but if you don't like him you can always change it. If you ever need a brand new body there only $900. and very simply to put on. I have saw allot of them on racing junk as-well. Love to have you guys git your kids in it. We all would have a blast with are kids. The age group is 8-15 I'm pretty sure and like Gary said the guy who owns the place is a great guy. We went up there last weekend and everybody is so nice and help each other out. If you guys want to talk to one of the guys up there let me know and I will hook you up. Gary I did'nt know your kids were doing all of that and hope we see each other around next year. There is 4 different classes your kids can race up there. Please check it out your kids will have so much fun and the top 3 finishers in each class gets a trophy each race and what I like the best is they race every other Saturday, so now the lake is possible. Need anything else please let me know guys.

No kidding. I wish they were around when I was a kid. They do have a tracks around that adults can race them but not in Oklahoma. Maybe they will one day.
