From Morgan Hill Ca,Ive seen Devon Run a Handful of Times....getting Better each time out. heres a Team Re-Cap

Hello all,

Well, we have been pretty busy, dealing with some motor failures, borrowed cars that did not perform as expected, as well as competing in a few 360 Injected Winged Sprint Car races. With some of the bad luck, we got a bit discouraged, & fell behind on our updates.

On Oct 9, in his 5th race in the winged car, Devon made the main in a 34 car field. He had qualified 14th out of the 34 cars, but 5 guys did not save their time, so he had made the inversion, sitting 9th in points. They drew a 10, which put him on the outside pole for the Main . He had Sprint Car Hall of Fame driver Brent Kaeding, sitting in 3rd, with former World of Outlaws Brad Furr sitting 4th, along with Bud Kaeding, Tim Kaeding, former World of Outlaws drivers Keith & Ronnie Day, Ocean Speedway Track Champion Tommy Tarlton, Mike Henry, & Evan Suggs ready to breath down his neck. Devon did not seem to be too nervous, but I could not say the same. As the green waived, Devon had an excellent start, maintaining his 2nd position as they exited turn 2. There was a caution for a spin in the back, so they would have to re-start. We went through this 3 times, & I am asking myself how many times can Devon hold on without Brent or Brad giving him a lesson in professional slide jobs. The 4th start was a charm, & Devon actually managed to get a great jump, & dove to the bottom as they entered turn 1 to jump in front of pole sitter Kyle Harris from Chico . Devon would lead the first 6 laps, but was passed by Brent on the bottom, but a caution came out so he would resume the lead on the re-start. He thought that there must be something on the bottom, so he tried it the next lap, but the car was just too tight, & Brent was able to drive around him. He got hung out a bit, & before you know it, the freight train had passed him by. He would spin out later in the race, & eventually ended up 13th out of the 22 car field. Devon said after the race that he made a mistake on the wing slider, & got himself too tight. He just has to get used to it, because if you make a mistake, these cars are just going so fast that it is really difficult to overcome.

All in all, we were pleased with the run.

October 24th Antioch Speedway

* Devon picks up 4th Feature Win for 2009, and becomes the only driver to win in 2009 at all three competitive tracks*

October 24th was the last race of the season at Antioch Speedway, and the last chance for Devon to be the only driver in 2009 to pickup Main Event Feature wins at the 3 most competitive speedways for the Wingless Spec Sprint Car Class; Ocean Speedway, Petaluma Speedway, & Antioch Speedway. Devon took the early lead from the outside front row and never looked back for the remaining 25 lap feature event. Devon had a great run, followed by Antioch Track Champion Billy Aton in 2nd, & Petaluma Track Champion Terry Shank in 3rd
