I am just speaking out my butt as I normally do but sitting here on this dreary Thursday afternoon (instead of contacting contingency sponsor for NCRA) I got to thinking. Would any of you be interested in organizing races every Friday night at Pole Position Raceway?

I am sure some of you know the owner and maybe could talk to him about giving us a discount somehow. I invision at least twenty-one people on board every Friday night and compete for points and hopefully a payout at the end. If he would charge everbody $15 a piece to race then we pay $5 for somebody to keep in an account. That $5 plus the twenty people is $100 a Friday night saved for the "point fund." There would be ten races (ten Friday nights) which would bring the total point fund amount to $1000. The top ten in points calulated at the end would get the payout amount TBA. Plus if there any potential sponsors who wants to add to it that would be cool too. Not counting those who want to just join in and race against the racers and fans as well. They would still pay $5 plus the ten dollars to race.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There would be at least three, twelve lap heat races with finishing points distrubted as the following:

1) 25, 2) 20, 3) 15, 4) 10, 5) 5

There would also be points for fastest laps or fastests average laps for those heat races

1) 50, 2) 45, 3) 40, 4) 35, 5) 30, 6) 25, 7) 20, 8) 15, 9) 10, 10) 5

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The top ten in points calculated would then redraw for starting positions 1-10. The balance of that twenty car field (positions 11-20) would go who had fastest times in those heat races. If your outside the top twenty (if more than twenty cars) then you sit outside like the rest of us and watch the feature. The feature would be twenty-five laps with the following point system:

1) 100, 2) 95, 3) 90, 4) 85, 5) 80, 6) 75, 7) 70, 8) 65, 9) 60, 10) 55, 11) 50, 12) 45, 13) 40, 14) 35, 15) 30, 16) 25, 17) 20, 18) 15, 19) 10, 20) 5

Those points are the championship points that goes towards the season championship. The next week will be total invert for those heat races meaning the following: If you win the feature then you will start last in the first heat race, if you run second you will run last in the second heat race, so on and so forth. If somebody new shows up they will start the heat race at the tail just like those who ran the first race - no points.

Like I said I don't know if we can get the owner of Pole Position to go for this or not but if any of you are interested and if any of you know him, approach this with what we are throwing around. With twenty drivers he would earn $300 from those competing.

Vote yes or no and if you have any comments or ideas post these as well. And this is open to anybody and everybody. If you Elk City or Lawton or Ardmore or Enid or Meeker or Ada or whomever racers can come up with ten of your track regulars and State Fair Speedway drivers can come up with ten of their regulars we could also have some fun with challenge races as well.

Your turn......
