This is not some affiliated official press release type thing or anything like that - just one race fan reminding fellow race fans

For all Metro area race fans that won't be traveling south on I-35 this weekend......you can still catch some great open wheel racing both friday and saturday at I-44 Speedway. Classes racing are

Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw
Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing
Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted
A Class
Kid Sprint
Mini Stock
Turf Tire

To get there - just take I-44 to the 149th street exit - go east a few yards - and right after you pass J.R.'s Bar & Grill - you'll see the sign for I-44 on the south side of the road. And once you turn south - follow the white dusty road from there lol.

The top 4 classes there should be extremely well attended - and the kid sprint and mini stocks are always hotly contested as well. ASCS2 is a great series - and combined with the always high banked and racy I-44 Speedway - the combination of the 2 should make for an extremely competitive weekend of racing. Not to mention - the Inaugural I-44 Winter Nationals are next weekend. And it should be 2 great weekends of racing to close out the 2009 season at I-44 Speedway.

Races start at 7pm both night. It won't be a freeze out this weekend - but it will be chilly - a sweater and beanie would be advisable lol.

For all those who have yet to make it out to I-44 this season. This is the first year I have really attended it often - and it's been damned good. In the nature of open wheel racing - sometimes there are sub par shows.....I have seen fewer sub par shows at I-44 this year than I have EVER seen at ANY track, ANY year. No matter ascs 360's or SFS shows - the 3 best shows I have seen this year have all been at I-44. Those being the ASCS2/Ryan Craighead Memorial, the Mini Sprint Nationals, and the Multi show the same saturday as the OU/Tulsa game (dont remember the date). The crowds have been getting steadily larger all year. But many race fans have still been missing out. The track prep has been awesome under the Berkley's - and the drivers have put on a great shows. Metro area fans deserve to see high quality racing - and with the track and drivers producing just that on a consistent basis, they deserve a large audience. This weekend is a great opprtunity to either re-visit I-44 - or get your feet wet for the first time.

Come on out - and if you see about 5 or 6 folks sittin in chairs 1 row from the top - with most decked out in OU gear - stop by and say hello Smile

OMG!!!! Shane Sellers, Brandon Jennings, Bobby Springer and Car Count Cody all in one place. That is one very scary thought and situation.

OMG I thought about maybe going to I-44 tonight but now I don't know. I would almost bet that if those 4 will be there you had better add Lee

oh no David - it gets better than that.

Wescoe, Thriller, Dirt Dale, and best of all....Don Juan de Boggs (casanoooooova)...... will be in attendance as well. I'm even gonna guess that Mr. Lenhart could be in attendance with DB being pushed back a night....and hopefully Mr. Hilbers will come out to catch some Glorified Go Kart action 1 night this weekend.

It could be a momentous occasion - albeit a cold one wink
