Finale for O'Reilly/NCRA Modifieds This Saturday Night

Will decide 2009 Division Champion

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Midwest City, Oklahoma – October 5, 2009 - The O'Reilly/NCRA modifieds will close out their 2009 race season this coming Saturday night at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas and at the conclusion of this event we will finally see who will become division champion as only forty-five points separate the top two while the third place in points is just 100 points back.

Dan Dainels of Humboldt, Kansas comes into the night as the point's leader but Wichita, Kansas driver Brian Powers is within striking distance just forty-five points out. Former 1998 division champion Don Renfro of Wichita is just 100 points out of the lead and third in the standings while defending champion Marc Hurd and Ponca City, Oklahoma driver Casey McClaskey are tied for fourth in the point standings. Amazingly, none of these drivers have reached victory lane thus far in 2009 and will also look to reach the Hard Rock Hotel-Casino feature victory lane.

Almost half of those victories on the season (three) have been won by former five-time series champion Brian Franz of Halstad, Kansas. Franz currently sits sixth in the point standings.

Other drivers expected to close out the twelfth year of the O'Reilly/NCRA modified division are regulars Jason Schniepp, Marlin Farr, Ross Shipman, Mike Jarvis, Greg Stephens, leading rookie contender Jim Pearcy, Brian Casey, Jim Johnson, Casey McClaskey, Nic Baalman, Brad Johnston and Ryan McAninch. Over thirty drivers are expected.

The championship deciding night for the O'Reilly/NCRA modifieds and sprint cars will wrap up a huge weekend for 81 Speedway, the home of NCRA, as it will be the second night of the annual Wix Filters/Bumper to Bumper Fall Classic. But not to be out done, there will be a special steak or rib dinner on Saturday night for $10.00. This event is open to the public from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM and will benefit the Steve King Foundation. If you're interested in partaking in this event, please call the speedway office (316) 755-1781 so that they may get an idea of how many to prepare for.

Gates open at 5:00 PM with green flag racing set to start at 7:00 PM. 81 Speedway is located North of Wichita on I-135 to exit 16, then 0.7 miles west on 77th. All grandstand tickets are $8.00. For more race information, contact the track (316) 755-1781.

The O'Reilly/NCRA is in the midst of their 39th consecutive season of sanctioning dirt track races across the Midwest, including their sprint car, late model, modified, Oklahoma modified and sport modified divisions. For more information on the series, including facts from the past, current race schedules, point standings, driver profiles and more, check them out on the World Wide Web www.ncraracing.org.

The series is now setting up schedules, contingencies and presentation sponsors for next years 40th anniversary. If you're interested in any of the above, please contact the NCRA office (316) 755-1781.

The O'Reilly/NCRA would like to thank the following series sponsors and contingency sponsors on the NCRA modified trail for the 2009 race season:
