NCRA Sport Mods Continue Battle Saturday at Brill Motor Speedway
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Midwest City, Oklahoma – September 28, 2009 - A tight points battle for the inaugural season of the O'Reilly/NCRA sport modifieds will continue this coming Saturday night as the division makes its second and final appearance of the season at Brill Motor Speedway in Meeker, Oklahoma this coming Saturday night (October 3) as part of the tracks two day Winter Nationals. The race will be held in conjunction of the series new O'Reilly/NCRA Oklahoma modified division, which will hold its final race of the season.
Six events have been competed and many story lines exist for the new division coming into the night. Through the past four events held there have been four different Hard Rock Hotel-Casino feature winners, will Brill Motor Speedway see a fifth or will Robert Elliott of Clinton repeat his May 30th victory at the track? Current series points leader Chad McNamara of Blackwell, Oklahoma currently holds a slim 65 points lead over Amarillo, Texas driver Donny Raney but has yet to reach victory lane in the six races that have been held thus far. McNamara finished in the runner up position at the last visit at Brill Motor Speedway and not only looks to finally reach victory lane but put some distance into his points lead as well. Will Robert Elliott of Clinton, who currently sits third in the divisions point standings and has two feature wins on the season, be able to finally finish a feature event after two straight DNF's?
Through the six events that have been held, 87 different drivers from four states have made at least one event with thirteen drivers making all events thus far. They include not only the above mentioned McNamara, Raney and Elliott but Randy Thomas (Elk City), Frank Graven (Cushing), Todd Decker (Edmond), Nick Schenberger (Sharon), Bob Mock (Del City), Mike Schenberger (Sharon), Kevin Snow (Enid), Landon Maddox (Fairview), David Givens (Perry) and Walter O'Dell (Kingfisher). Close to forty drivers are expected.
Pit gates will open a 4:30 PM with racing set to begin at 7:00 PM. From the North, Brill Motor Speedway is located off of the Turner Turnpike –ten miles south of Hwy 66 on Hwy 18.
