NCRA Oklahoma Modified Finale This Weekend in Meeker
Battle for Inaugural Championship on the Line
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Midwest City, Oklahoma – September 28, 2009 - The final points race for the inaugural season of the O'Reilly/NCRA Oklahoma modified division will take place this coming Saturday night, October 3rd, at Brill Motor Speedway in Meeker, Oklahoma as part of the tracks Winter Nationals and with it will be the out come of who will be crowned series champion and who will finish where in the final top ten in series points. The nights racing action will also see the NCRA sport modifieds in action for their next to last event on the 2009 race schedule.
Gene Weaver of Amarillo, Texas will come into the night with a 95 point lead over Moore, Oklahoma's Alan Oliva. Weaver, the Hard Rock Hotel-Casino feature winner in the divisions' opener at Elk City back in March, is just one of four drivers to have reached victory lane in the four races that have been held.
Sitting third in the point standings is recent feature winner Travis Penrod of Davis, Oklahoma. Penrod, who won the last event held at Elk City, is 35 points ahead of Quail, Texas driver Logan Cabbell, who currently sits fourth in the points.
Tied for fifth in point standings is Warr Acres driver Chris Roach and Edmond's Cam Case. Casey McClaskey, Thomas Tillison, Jr., Brad Worley and Kerry Davis. Other series regulars expected and also looking to reach the final top ten in points include Jason Hilliard, Jaymon Gregory and Brian Wolfe.
Other drivers expected include Ron Gould, Jr., Greg Burt, Chad Davis, Jason Redmond, Kyle Goforth, Kyle Sweeney, Brian Danker and Jeff Rowland. Close to forty drivers are expected.
It has been a successful season for the new division of NCRA as 95 drivers have competed in at least one O'Reilly/NCRA event during the season with 12 drivers making all four shows while five drivers have missed just one event. Four different drivers have reached victory lane including the before mentioned Weaver and Penrod, also Bryan Rowland (Brill Motor Speedway) and Chad Wheeler (Outlaw Motor Speedway).
Pit gates will open a 4:30 PM with racing set to begin at 7:00 PM. From the North, Brill Motor Speedway is located off of the Turner Turnpike –ten miles south of Hwy 66 on Hwy 18. Coming from I-40 the track is located off of exit 186, go North on Hwy 18 about sixteen miles and the track will be on the west hand side of the road.
