Enids $10,000 to Win Info You Should Know
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 10, 2009 – Midwest City, Oklahoma - It is September in Oklahoma and that only means one thing if you're a stock car fan. The time has arrived for the 14th annual Street Stock Nationals that will be once again held at Enid Speedway Park, located on the Garfield County Fairgrounds in Enid, Oklahoma. And just as all years previous, the largest paying and longest running to win race in the State of Oklahoma will once again see the Sunday afternoon feature finale winner take home $10,000. It will all begin on Thursday night, September 24th with open practice session. Drivers will then attempt to qualify for Sunday afternoons finale on both Friday and Saturday night (September 25-26) and have one last shot during last chance qualifying on Sunday afternoon prior to the big twenty car field feature finale.
Throughout the previous thirteen Nationals races, there have been eleven different feature winners. Among them include inaugural winner Eddie Martin of Stilwell, Oklahoma (1996), second generation Enid driver Troy Gemmill of Ponca City (1997), Walt Butler of Morrilton, Arkansas (1998), Edwin Welks of Morrilton (1999), Kelly Cross of Lubbock, Texas (2000), Ron Jones of Zimmerman, Minnesota (2001), Truitt Hegwood of Goodwell, Oklahoma (2002), Levi McGowen from Kansas (2003), Kenny Morris of Enid (2004), Chris Dawson from Post , Texas (2007) and the only repeat winner Chad McNamara of Blackwell (2005, 2006, 2008).
The festivities begin on Thursday night, September 24, with a test and tune session beginning at 7:00 p.m. On Friday and Saturday night, qualifying heats and features will be run with last chance qualifiers and the 50 lap Street Stock Nationals feature finale on Sunday afternoon. Pit gates on Friday and Saturday open at 3:00 p.m. with racing at 7:00 p.m. while Sunday gates open at 11:00 a.m. with racing at 2:00 p.m.
Entry fee is $250 paid by cashiers check or money order only for pre-registration. Sending your entry in early will reserve your car number for the weekend.
Below are the things that you may need to know regarding this huge annual event:

WHAT IS THE PAY: Of course Sunday afternoons feature finale will pay $10,000 to win but will also pay $750 to start the twenty car feature event. The breakdown for the feature finale goes like this:
1) $10,000, 2) $4000, 3) $3,000, 4) $2,000, 5) $1500, 6) $1000, 7-20) $750
All non-qualifying drivers starting the "B" feature will earn $400 with $250 going to all "C" feature non qualifying starters.
WHAT IS ENTRY FEE: $250 is the entry fee paid by cashiers check or money order for pre-registration. Pre-entry will reserve your number. You can get your entry form by accessing the tracks website www.enidspeedwayparkllc.com.
TIMES: Practice on Thursday night begins at 6:00 PM. Pit gates on Friday and Saturday night open at 3:00 PM with racing set for 7:00 PM. Pit gates on Sunday afternoon open at 11:00 AM with racing set to begin at 2:00 PM.

As I told Chad in the infield after the NCRA sport modified race at Caney this past Saturday night, I had people after people asking me where on the track was that McNamara, what is his car number and some also referred to him as "that guy who has won all those street stock nationals races."
Now if he can only be fast enough to finally get into victory lane in one of them there NCRA sport modified shows.
That is an inside joke between Chad and I and I will post about that when I update the front page of my website. I found it rather funny.

if any one needs 10" hoosier's for this event i have,em for $35 a peice or $150 for 5. Most tires have 20 laps on them, came off latemodle's that ran nashville super speedway last month plenty of meat and grip on these. Also have brand new 5 on5 basset wheels for sale with an aggressive bead can run 5 to 6 pounds of pressure with no problem for $70 a wheel or could nock off $10 if you buy a tire with it anyone intrested call me at 405-802-8140 can deliver or meet in central oklahoma
