David Smiith, Jr. NCRA Press and Contingencies (405) 740-4769 NCRA Mod Point Battle Resumes at Belleville FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - August 30, 2009 - Midwest City, Oklahoma - There are three points races left and they are all going to be good ones with the top six drivers in points within 145 points of each other for the series championship. And it all will resume this coming Sunday night as the O'Reilly/NCRA modified division brings their point battle and annual Labor Day weekend appearance of the Belleville Highbanks Speedway in Belleville, Kansas. The series late model division will also be competing. Despite being shut out of victory lane thus far in 2009, Dan Daniels comes into the event as the series points lead. However, defending series champion Marc Hurd is running as well as anybody and has taken over the runner up position in the point standings and is only a mere 20 points out of the first place. Brian Franz has picked up three feature victories on the tour but currently sits third in the point standings, thirty points out of the lead as he seeks his sixth series championship. Also having been shut out of victory lane in 2009 is Brian Powers but after suffering through various mechanical problems earlier in the season, looks to have all that settled and is fourth in the point standings, just 105 points out. Don Renfro and Casey McClaskey both still have a mathematical chance at the series championship as they are 135 and 140 points behind, respectively. Johnny Allen will also be on hand to try to repeat his Fourth of July weekend victory on the famed half mile oval. Other series regulars expected include Mike Jarvis, Jason Schneipp, Marlin Farr, Ross Shipman, Greg Stephens and Jim Pearcy. In all, close to thirty drivers are expected to compete on the high banks. The famed Belleville Highbanks gates open at 5:30 PM with the first green flag falling at 7:30 PM. The track is located two miles north of US 36 on US 81, then one half mile southeast on M Street to 7th, then 0.1 mile east (located near water tower) at the North Central Kansas Fairgrounds where camping is available. Race information can be obtained by calling (316) 755-1781.
