NATIONAL SPRINT CAR MUSEUM BOARD MEMBERS TO MEET AT PERRIS OVAL NATIONALS ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (August 21, 2009) - Mike Brooks, president of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum Foundation’s board of directors, will welcome new members at the next quarterly board meeting in Lake Perris, California, on Friday, November 6, as part of the Oval Nationals at the Perris Auto Speedway. Sprint car fans will remember Mike Brooks as the 1980 track champion at the Knoxville Raceway on the Marion County Fairgrounds, site of the national 501(c)(3) non-profit museum.

Louis Long of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is the vice-president, while Andy Clark of nearby Oskaloosa is secretary/treasurer. Ken “J.D.” Cormack of Kansas City, Missouri, and Jeff Savage of Beaverton, Oregon, were elected to four-year terms on the nine-member board during the 2009 Knoxville Nationals. Continuing their terms on the board are Shane Carson of Yukon, Oklahoma, Jim Jones of Knoxville, Grant Rankin of Bussey and Bruce St. James of Phoeniz, Arizona. The board, staff and membership of the museum would also like to thank Doug Auld of Piqua, Ohio, and Roger Johnson of Memphis, Tennessee, for their years of service on the nine-member board of directors.

The 22-member advisory board now consists of Iowans Mike Husted, Bob Dyer, Bob Maxwell, Larry Storey, Kent Chrisman, Annette Boehlje, Tim Phillips, Larry Smith, Brian Stickel, and Tony Bokhoven, and Chuck Fawcett of California, Bob Mays of Nebraska, Dick Woodland of California, Emmett Hahn of Oklahoma, Dick Jordan of Indiana, Larry Janicsek of Wisconsin, Lynn Paxton of Pennsylvania, Allan Brown of Michigan, Brad Doty of Ohio, John Nelson of Illinois, Rollie Helmling of Indiana, and David Vodden of California. Sincere appreciation is also extended to Jim Cadwell of Iowa, Tom Hall of Pennsylvania, Joe Harz of New Jersey, and Ken Clapp of California for their years of service to the advisory board of directors.

I can't argue that. Johnny Anderson was one of the best ever!!

So there's our So-Cal pick and Nor-Cal pick for next years Hall of Fame inductees.
