David Smith, Jr. NCRA Press and Contingencies (405) 740-4769 NCRA Answers Tire Questions for Oklahoma Modified Division FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Midwest City, Oklahoma - August 24, 2009 - With daily phone calls pertaining to this issue, officials with the O'Reilly/National Championship Racing Association announced Monday the following tires that will be allowed for the rest of the 2009 race season for the Oklahoma modified division only. The Hoosier G-60, either old or new, IMCA stamped or unstamped and the original Hoosier 500 will be allowed for the rest of this season. The new Hoosier 500 is not legal for the 2009 race season. Also, the series will allow siped and grooving of tires. Also a reminder for all drivers planning on competing at this Friday nights (August 28) O'Reilly/NCRA Oklahoma modified show at Elk Citys I-40 Speedway in Elk City, Oklahoma that the division runs steel heads, you can run aluminum heads but must have 50 lbs of weight bolted on to the front motor plate.
