Strictly scientific poll as last time I did this (a couple of years ago) I got into trouble for this for the way it was worded.
As of now SFS is NOT changing the rules on the super sprints but they are down in Devils Bowl. Would you like to see SFS get rid of the super sprint rules and go ASCS rules or you just want to leave well enough alone?
That doesnt make since to change it one place and not the other. Guys such as Whit Gastineau that I have seen in both places may not want to run two cars.
I also think if they went ASCS they would get some big guys to roll into town every now and then, when ASCS has a off week. I think it would be a good thing.
Why not just adapt to the OCRS rules for the two barrel Champ Sprint Cars, and add an ASCS Injected class for specials using the existing equipment rules from both sanctions. Would give the 2bbl travelers a better handle on running American Right Rears and keeping in line with the head, fuel and carb size rules, allow OCRS legal Sprints to visit SFS, and both the the OCRS and ASCS rules are already in place
How many 2bbl OCRS legal Sprinters are there in Oklahoma, vrs how many SFS legal cars are there?
In a perfect world it would be great what all your saying BUT , Lanny will not and never will pay out the type of money for an OCRS purse, he gets as many cars or more over the past years for way less pay and I don't see OCRS officials lowering their purse , so looks like a lot of issues between parties that have existed and I don't believe either would give in or at least I would go to Vegas and bet the farm on it that Lanny would not.
Besides what other promoter nearly drops a class several years ago and then lets them come back and run for less money and then gets more cars to run than when he was paying more money for the class before he thought of dropping them. Like him or not , ya gotta admit that is pretty savvy.
Didn't say to make it an OCRS sanctioned event, simply suggested running their equipment rules so when the owners choose to take their cars from track A to B or C or Z they would all conform to one standard.
I have always said and will continue to preach, that Track Promoters should not be the sole decision makers when it comes to their Race Track and what he/she will or will not allow. All classes of cars are needed at every track to make it profitable.
Track Promoters and Sanctioning Bodies; ORA, OCRS, NCRA, & ASCS etc. should all be on the same page. It aignt Rocket Science.
Here is an example: If I build a Street Stock according to the rules of my LOCAL track and we get rained out and Me, my Family, and Crew Members decide to travel to another track and SPEND our money to patronise your track. We take the win only to find out that after YOU the PROMOTER has taken my entry, my Crews entry, (pit pass) my Wife and Kids Grandstand entry and Concession have declared us ILLEGAL.
We all need to be unifeid no matter what Class or Division of cars we race. The above senerio happens too often, or it's "we can't go run over there." So who looses?
Answer: The Fans, The Racers with Family and Crew in toe, and most of all the PROMOTER.

JMO
Other than a few thousands of size for the 2bbl carbs and the right rear spec tire, both SFS and
OCRS are close to the same rules for the 2bbl Sprints.
Haha thanks Dave. I'm not going to push this deal just because I want it. I talked to someone tonight and they were concerned about spending too much money and that the heavy hitters would come through and take out money. I want what's best for our class and the sprint racers in OKC. What if something happens to the fairgrounds? There will be no more Super Sprint class if that happens IMO, we will all be either ASCS or 2-barrell. Why not know that you have a whole winter to change over instead of being caught by surprise and having to stay home.
Like I said before, in all reality I probably won't be able to get my motor changed over due to finances. But I will either race 2-barrell or run the ASCS class with my motor if we do switch.
With all of that said I am going to get a spread sheet and a petition together so someone can take it around Friday night to all of the Super Sprint drivers. If around 2/3 of the drivers/owners don't want to sign it then I don't want to even submit it to Lanny.
If anyone has any other ideas either post them or e-mail me on here!
I know we're just one team, but if SFS goes ASCS, we are DONE!!!
It's not just the engine, it's wings, hydraulics, shocks; etc. I guess week-end racing just isn't for fun anymore, it's all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!
I completely agree with AMP. Common rules allow for a little travelin' and it's good for the regular Friday night show to have a big dog or two show up once and a while. It always made it that much more exciting to look over the north grandstand wall and see that Frankie Lies came down from Wichita.
The success of the early NCRA was you could take a 100" super or modified and race at a Tulsa, Enid, Lawton, OKC, Wichita or Amarillo show. You don't have to pay a sanctioned purse every night, just run the same rules so that you've built a base of cars at several tracks.
I never understood why OKC worked so hard to keep their rules different from Tulsa and Devil's Bowl after the demise of the champ car.
