Never been to Elko before (Asphalt..LOL) so will the Sprintcars pit in the center of the track or outside the track and if in the center, will they unload?
Hope Tatnell can find a ride for these shows!

Click on the link for an aerial view. The pits are just southeast of the track. I believe they will pit in that area:

I went there when we were doing the Race Show with Rob Hahn to watch them record the studio segment. Elko's pits are outside turns 1&2 and downhill from the track so I presume they'll probably get plenty of use out of the 4 wheelers. FYI, there is a paved figure 8 in the infield that looks like it won't be covered with dirt so theoretically there would be room to push them off on the paved area.
The pit area is paved and nice, nice, nice, compared to anything we're used to. Lighting is top notch and the entire facility is awesome including a concert venue. Normally I wouldn't rank a tar track as awesome but a couple of feet of dirt changed my thinking temporarily.

Did you hear what happened to the #14b car down at Knoxville? Motor? I presume the 14b was the Nelson #14. I'm a little out of touch after spending four days on a non-racing trip to Galena, Illinois. I've never seen a place with so many shops that the women could only make it half way to the end of the main drag. It was like the Knoxville Nationals of shopping. LOL

I was surprised to Nelson's car down at Knoxville on Saturday, Brooke must have done some arm twisting for that to happen. J/K
I was listening to the Outlaws while following along with Knoxville and the only thing listed in the results from Knoxville is that we pulled into so I am guessing it was mechnical.
T-Mac has Elko on his schedule Friday and I am sure Heskin will head that way on Friday as well.
I am sure we will see Winters there both night along with Whitney and the Sernett's are maybe just John.
Should be a fun time had by all!

How is the seating at the track--- is it like cedar where pretty much all the seats are good and can watch the race from, or do you need to sit up high to see it all?

From the photos on Elko's website every seat looks good.

Hey Stan, Chuck is out at Elko with John Sernett testing the track. Chuck sent me one 17 sec cell video clip. I'll try and post it but if I can't figure it out do you know how?

I talked to him a few minutes ago Mike. If you can send it to my email at [email protected] I can post it. It's easier for me to upload it to a temporary file and link to it than to try and explain how to do it. I think posts on this site need to be hosted somewhere.

I found an email for you on this site [email protected] if you have another email you want them set to let me know.
The video's look kinda dark with the overcast and no track lighting on.

Just a heads up: All Southbound lanes on I-35 will be closed south of 494 starting at 10:00 Friday night until 5:00 Monday morning. This shouldn't affect your trip to Elko from the Twin Cities on Friday, but it certainly will on Saturday. I saw this on KSTP news last night and it is on the Star Tribune website this morning.

Terry McCarl has the Friday show on his schedule and I assume Davey Heskin will also race on Friday since it's on his was down to Knoxville. I would expect to see Witners there both night and not sure if Mark Dobmeier will run Friday night, he might be running for points at River Cities.
Others to expect. Jerry Richert Jr., Brad Barickman (possibly) Whitney, Sernett's, the K9 car and maybe Jake Peters.

Thanks for the heads up. Here is a cut-n-paste of the article you are referring to:
"There are more traffic delays coming this weekend as work pushes
ahead on reconstruction of Interstate 35W from Burnsville into downtown
Minneapolis. Starting Friday at 10 p.m., all lanes of southbound 35W from I-494 to 106th Street will be closed until Monday at 5 a.m.
During that time, bridge repair and pavement work along 35W will be done."
This stretch of 35w is in Bloomington basically between 494 and the Minnesota River. Anyone coming down 35e from the St. Paul side will not be affected. My guess is that traffic will probably be rerouted to Cedar (77 past the MOA) down to 35e.

Take the scenic route(s). There's about a 10 mile stretch around Faribault on I-35 where there's major road construction going on with long lines & delays.

I did a mapquest search and from St. James and it shows to take 60 up to Mankato than 169 up to state hwy 19 by Henderson than go to New Prague, once past New Prague you will need to take a couple county roads to get to the track but it looks to be fairly simple.
