I'd say mid 20's for ASCS. All of the National guys are out of town and a lot of the locals won't be able to afford it due to the tire bill the last few weeks.

You might want to re-read that...or maybe, being an OSU fan you can't read (sorry Jeff, it was too easy). I never complained. I am, in fact racing. I was just pointing out that I know of a lot of people that aren't due to the tire bill. Might I ask what kind of car you race, and if so can you pay the weekly tire bill of $750? Possibly 900 if you buy a LF too.

Hey Randy, sometimes Bologna samiches taste the same as Prime Rib, Fillet Minion. or a Burritto. Peanut butter and jelly is also a good source of nutrition.

Smiley's / "Hoosier Tires Southwest" has pleanty of RR's in stock not to mention the LR, or the fronts.

Step up you Peanut Butter and Bologna eating fool. Tell Mamma we aignt havin no Burrittos this week. LOL

There's always a few o-state fans that make us look dumb, just like there are a bunch of ou fans that make you guys look dumb. LOL

Mid 20's is a good guess. 20 Champs. Too many one groove mini's and about 14 pro's.

You might want to go back and re-read my post as there is no mention about you personally complaining. I said "you guys" I guess at OU they didn't teach reading comprehension! I personally do not race, but I work on a modified if that makes much difference.

Yeah I am an OSU fan what does that have to do with anything? I'm not going to get into a battle of intelligence with you. Yeah I could afford that tire bill if I decided I wanted to with my OSU degree.

Hey Allen, Peanut Butter and Bologna is not on my diet LOL! I don't tell mama what to cook thats my job. The menu for friday is Roasted pulled" PORK" Samiches with my homemade BBQ sauce , Potatoe salad, Southern style Baked beans, Sweet Tea And to finish it off with a homade Peach cobbler! So there you can have your DAMNED OLE BOLONGA AND PEANUT BUTTER!!!!

You can't deny that what you said was directed at me. I was the only one that said anything about tires in the thread and you come along with your post. Anyway, the OSU thing was a joke as I am an OU grad and I like to mess with the OSU guys on this board.

Congrats on the degree though, that's a big accomplishment.

Don't forget that Cheese21 also bitches about the draw. I could probably afford the tire bill also, it's just that $30,000 car plus the motor thats problem. Maybe I should just work on a modified instead.

Cheese you may have felt that you are the one that it was directed towards, but there has just been alot of bitching about dry tracks from the sprint car groupies. It wasnt all directed toward you. This is the never ending battle dry track vs. heavy. Earlier this year everyone was complaining about a heavy one lane track, not that its been 100+ degrees and the tracks dry everyone complains about tires.

Well if you cant afford the sprint car you might as well dream on about the modified as well. $30k on just a car...... seems a little high to me for just a car. Might want to shop around a little next time. I bet u could put together a nice 410 for $30k

And a modified is cheap? There are 3 types of tracks, Tacky, Dry slick, and rubbered down tracks that eats tires. I am glad that the Sport Mods run first and that way we just get the dry slick tracks

I think it's a crap shoot for the Sooner Region. It really depends on how many we get from the tulsa and DFW area. Maybe even Kansas as well. But DFW and Tulsa will be the kicker. Of course we'll get Sherman Davis and Brian McClelland. And Covington as well. But the ? is on Passmore, and quasi National guys like Donnie Ray Crawford, Brady Bacon, Gavin Punch, Sean McClelland, Kenneth Walker - and there are a handful of other Tulsa area cars. Same with DFW - Baldaccini, Ramey, Estes, Lough, Kolt Walker, Minter, Ricketts, George White, Jerry Bell, Trey Robb, etc. From these areas that is the difference between low 20's - and low to mid 30's.

I'm gonna guess 28. 22 champs. 15 pro's - and prob about a dozen of both Outlaw Micro's and A Class - and maybe 6 restricted.

Its cool man. Just to let it be known I will never complain about dry tracks. Rubber is a different story though. And a 410 motor will cost you about $45k nowadays and they are generally good for 6-8 races before a rebuild. ASCS and weekly OKC motors run $32-35k and they are good for about 20-25 races if you buy them from a builder.

If they are that much someone better jump on this deal on racing junk then has a few nights but hey:

Wesmar 410 : http://www.racingjunk.com/category/429/Sprint_Cars/post/1586910/410-Wesmar-for-sale-Nice-.html

On another note, I have been coming and working on cars @ SFS for almost 10 years and dont believe I have ever seen a track at SFS take rubber. At least not like Enid or Ada does. Did the track really take rubber last week?

Well there is good chance of rain Thurs night. WE have not seen a good rain in a few weeks so that rain might soak right into the track or it might run right off depending on what they did this week to the track.

I am going on the record and saying 22 to 25 ASCS cars. Just enough to make a A.

Hell yes it took rubber for the last 2 weeks, after the races it almost looked like a asphalt track!!!

ASCS Gulf South is at Beaumont on Friday and Baytown on Saturday. That could pull some of the Texas guys to stay home.

Car counts from the four Sooner Region races so far.

4/25 Creek 35

5/8 SFS 56

5/9 Devils Bowl 44

6/20 Springfield 18

Also read where 24 of the top 25 planned on making the National West Coast swing.
