Before I start rambling, congratulations to the Hog Wagon for the A feature win last night. I sure it can be credited to the adjustments J.D. made to the exhaust turndowns before the race. Just kidding, good job guys.
You can thank Scott Waddell for building the new arm on the John Deere. It should save some front sprint car wings.
While watching the Sprint Car features last night, I wonder how cost effective it can be to run for a $100, while burning up $800 worth of tires. It looked like an asphalt track or a drag strip with the rear tires smoking from start to the finish. The Hoosier and Goodyear tire companies were the biggest winners last night.
Last night would have been a good night for a traction control salesman to be wandering through the pits. I did notice some sprint cars who did not seem to be spinning their rear wheels coming off of turn 4.
It continues to amaze me how inconsistent the rules and/or procedures are enforced at OKC. They ran a modified B feature, a sprint car B feature and then came right back with the modified A feature. It looks like they could have waited on Tony Anderson, but he spent 20 laps trying to catch up. It also continues to puzzle me about someone going to the work area. Sometimes they allow 3 or 4 laps to get a flat changed and other times, like last night, you only get a half of a lap. At least ASCS usually has a two lap yellow.
From what I heard last night, if you get your fuel checked and it has gasoline in the methanol, you get a two week suspension, but if you have polypropylene in the methanol, nothing happens. What's the deal? I think the race track would be better served if they told everyone they will be not sending any fuel samples to the lab to be tested. They have a test kit and if the sample turns cloudy, you are suspended for two weeks, no exceptions.
This the only track in the country that is more concerned with mufflers than they are with illegal motors or illegal fuel. Once again, it is amazing.
What's happened to the Daily Oklahoman? They have put large pictures of local racers in the sports section, the last two days.
My head is still hurting from seeing Cameron Ochs get hit in the head. I am sure Cameron's head is still hurting this morning. What a fluke deal that was. I guess he was lucky it was not worse. From what I saw, it was bad enough, especially if you were Cameron. No ones fault, just one of those racing deals. Someone said it was a dirt clod. I suspect it was something harder than a dirt clod. It was probably a piece off of someone's race car.
