Been a long time since i posted on here but am looking for some help.
Just found out this morning that my son and I can make it out to the Nationals this year. Tickets are not a problem but I am having trouble finding a place to stay. I am going to be coming out for 10 days starting with the 360 Nationals. Does anybody have an extra hotel room they won't be needing? Don't mind staying 30 to 45 minutes from the track. This will be our 2nd trip out but it has been about 6 or 7 years i think. Can't even remember. Any info would be appreciated.

There is a brand new AmericInn in Newton right on I-80. Just opened a few months ago. 641-791-1160. It's right next to the Iowa Speedway.
Otherwise go here and go down the list. http://www.knoxvilleraceway.com/Hospitality.aspx

Ive been staying at the Hampton Inn by the Des Moine Airport each yeah when I go. Now that the new highway is finished a few years back you can hop on hwy 5 south (i think) and it dumps you off at the 4 way stop about 6 or 8 miles west of knoxville. total time from hotel to track is 40 mins MAX.
and its usually a beatiful drive, not bad at all. last year the weather was perfect.

If worse comes to worse, Ottumwa has several hotels and is just under an hour from Knoxville and 30 min from Osky.

West Des Moines is great. An hour to track but lots to do during the day close by. We like the residence inn because it is a suite with living room and kitchen. Also you are adjacent to the Mall and restaraunts. Great for longer stays...also a new Holiday Inn there...and many others too...glad you can make it!

Mr. Mac, I am thinking about trying that residence in this year. I am going to get to be there for the last night of the 360 nationals and the whole entire next week, so looking foward to it. Might see you there!

You might want to consider the Extended Stay Hotel just off of I-35. I know it is a little out of the way but they support sprint car racing on a National level as the "Official Home Away From Home" of the All Stars. I think if you go to the All Star's site they have a promo code you can use. Hayley Thomas is the GM there, super nice and super accomodating.

Raz, how in the health are ya', been too long! If you check with the Chamber of Commerce they will likely find you a place to stay at a reasonable cost and you will likely end up having a new friend for life. Knoxville residents have a great reputation for being wonderful hosts, give them a shout. Have a great Nationals, Take It Easy...
