Does anyone have an update of John's condition following his flip at Kopellah on Friday night?

I guess the word going around is that he broke his back when the car landed back on all four wheels.

I heard John broke his back too thru a source that talked to John. John must be on too many drugs right now!!!!! But I think those reports are false. I talked to Ron B and Joe K told him he had talk to Duane (John's dad) and the latest report is that John bruised his back really bad.

So I don't know for sure what the true repost is on his condition.

He definitely took a hard tumble and then an extremely hard impact on all fours. Here's to a speedy recovery for John!

Well, that's much better news than the rumors that I heard.

Speedy Recovery John!

If some kind of contact info could be posted to send him well wishes, ask him if that would be cool.

Word has it The Legend, Curt Thurmer is busted up after a nasty wreck at Jackson Speedway on Saturday. At least a broken rib along with a car that is many, many pieces.

John broke two vertabre in his back, and is in Regions Hospital as of this morning. He does not have to have surgery, but will have to wear a back brace for a while. He is in good spirits and there are no other complications. John will be able to recieve email later today, his email adress is [email protected]. Duane Nelson

Thank you to the track safety crew for doing such and awesome job and getting John taken care of. Thanks to everyone that stopped over Friday night and offered help. It's great to be racing with such wonderful competitors and friends!

We will post periodically on our website on Johns progress.
