MDLMS Ready for Round 3 at Caney; Adult Admission $8 & Kids are FREE!
by Dusty Wiegert

CANEY, Kan. -- The MidwestDirt Late Model Series kicks back into action this Saturday night June 13 at the Caney Valley Speedway in Caney, Kansas.

After 2 races so far Joplin, Missouri's Chuck Comer leads the point standings after winning both events. Comer looks to return to go for 3 in a row but will have a slew of competition breathing down his neck.

Valley Center's Jimmy Segraves and Caney's Gary Gorby are both tied for second in the standings. Segraves came home with a second place finish the first night with Gorby finishing 4th. At the last event Segraves had to work harder for a better finish as he had to start 20th but made his way to 5th by the end of the Main Event. Gorby once again had a solid finish, this time in 3rd.

Brad Fortney also looks to return as he sits in 4th in the standings, as well as Bartlesville, Oklahoma's Joseph Gorby who rounds out the top 5.

The show will once again pay $1000 to win and $200 to start with an entry fee of $50. All SUPR/IMCA/WISSOTA Spec Motor cars are welcome to compete with a weight break. To see the rules visit the official series site listed below.

To top off the evening the Caney Valley Speedway is offering FREE ADMISSION to kids 12 and under along with a paid adult admission, which is only $8, a very affordable option for some family fun watching the wedge bodied gladiators battle it out at the quarter mile bullring. Seniors are $5 to get in while pit passes are $25.

Also on the card for the evening are the USRA Modifieds, B-Modifieds, Street Stocks, Factory Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Turf Cars.

Grandstand and pit gates open at 4:00 while hot laps start at 6:00 with the racing program following at 7:30.

The Caney Valley Speedway is located 0.8 mile west of the junction of US 75 and US 166 on CR 1600.
