I saw on the K-ville website there was a red flag at the end of the A-Main for the 410's for Johnny Herrera? (not sure I spelled it right) Does anyone know if he is ok? How bad is the car???

Was there...Im sure he'll be sore tomorrow, but he walked away and was signing autographs at the trailer. Looked like a lot of bolt on parts were damaged, but I would guess the frame could be fixed.

He had engine problems and couldn't start th heat and came through the B. Started 17th, I think, and was up to 6th and going for 5th at a swift pace and hit a slowing car in one and flipped into turn two. Talked to him in the pits. He is fine and, like slow_sprinter said, looks like mainly bolt on parts, wing and wing brackets. Quite an impressive run for those who wanted to know what he could do if he started back a ways instead of the front row. Tonight you saw if you were there.
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

Quoted from Bill-Dub: "Herrera flipped on the white flag lap, but the point leader was still
scored 10th going back to the last completed lap. Brown was the only
one to complete 20 laps when the red was thrown, making it a complete
feature."
So coming from 17th to 10th...being the last car on the lead lap (Brown had just lapped Skip) was an impressive run?

Repeat, he was in 6th passing for 5th when he overcame a car literally stopped in front of him. 17th to 6th, running the way he was all around the track, if you were there watching it, was impressive, yes.

Little correction...I was watching Dobmeier the whole race and he was just ahead of Herrera when the red came out. So Herrera was 7th. Great run by Mark, his first win of the year is on the horizon!

Super Chuck also thought Johnny was in seventh, behind Dobmeier and just ahead of Lynton. Curious as to the 10th place scoring, but figured I missed some cars in there because I was focusing on the Wayne and Kerry battle and watching Brown work traffic. Johnny had a better run than the stats show and Super Chuck was just bustin' on ya Darbo. Early in the race Super Chuck thought the way Johnny was coming he might have something for them. Great racing all around.

No problem. I may be mistaken, but I thought Dobmeier and Johnny had gotten around the 49 on the last lap and were race racing for 5th, then the mess and 49 ended up ahead of Dobmeier in 5th. Doesn't really matter, it was a heck of a race. My main point was that I don't understand all the criticism after every race, no matter the track, these critics complaining about the racing. Boring, one lane, follow the leader, etc. Of course someone with a good car and ability as Brian or Herrera, or anyone else, if they get the luck of the draw and end up on the front row they have a good chance or winning. There is a lot of racing going on and there is excitement elsewhere than just watching a front runner go ahead and win it. There is a lot more going on if you look for the good instead of persuing the negative. It was great racing in all three classes, I thought.

I have the official results in my mitts here. Johnny was scored as the last car to run 19 laps (10th)...only Brown ran 20...
If this post isn't results, stories or something c

Thanks for the update everyone. I moved to the South down to Texas, I don't get to follow Johnny as much as I would like. I may be moving to New Mexico, in the next year. I used to live in Davenport Iowa and come to the 1/2 mi. at K-ville.

but, but, but, he flipped... Dont you think everyone wouldve ran 20 laps, had he not flipped?
Where would he have been scored if his motor tanked and he brought out the yellow checkers?
Not bitching cause it dont make any difference to me. As someone who was not there, I'm having a hard time getting a grasp of this "creative scoring" . Maybe when I see it on Tv this week it will clarify itself.

First of all, no one from 11th back would have gone 20 laps. Therefore, he would have been in the same exact spot had his motor tanked or he stopped in turn one. Everyone finishing 11th on back was lapped. He still would be 10th. What is hard to understand? No "creative" scoring, just the facts man!
