David Smith, Jr NCRA Press Releases/Contingencies (405) 740-4769 Caney Valley Up Next for NCRA Sport Modifieds FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - June 1, 2009 - Midwest City, Oklahoma - It is back in action for the O'Reilly/NCRA sport modified division as they head for the border, the Oklahoma/Kansas border that is, to tackle the quarter mile clay oval of Caney Valley Speedway in Caney, Kansas this coming Saturday night, June 6. The race will a challenge race of sorts, with the tracks local B mods also in competition. After two races for the inaugural season for the sport modified division, Chad McNamara of Blackwell and Donnie Raney of Amarillo, Texas sit tied atop the point standings while recent feature winner Robert Elliott of Clinton sits third in points, just ten points out. Other series regulars expected to compete are Nick and Mike Schenberger, Frank Graven, Randy Thomas, Kenny Morris, Perry Colby, Randy Sallee, Todd Decker, Ross McCartney, Kevin Snow, Bob Mock, David Givens, Curtis Martin, Cody Whitworth, Levi Galmor, Mark Wilson, Travis Johnson, Landon Maddox, Ken Monroe, Don Reed and Walter O'Dell. The tracks B mod regulars that are expected to compete include points leader Jerry Slaughter, Kyle Kuehn, Chance Bishop, Jerry Kustenborter and Tyler McGee. Only NCRA Sport modified and Caney Valley Speedways B mod rules will be allowed for this event which pays $500 to win, $100 to start the Cherokee Casino-Resort feature finale. All "B" feature non qualifiers will earn $50. Entry fee is $25. Gates open at 4:00 PM with racing scheduled for 7:30 PM. Caney Valley Speedway is located one mile west of the junction US 75 and US 166 at CR 1600.
